The Name Above Every Name — Given, Not Taken

Everything Yeshua did, He did in perfect submission to His Father. Thus, He is not “god”. His Father is God, and He is His DIVINE SON.

Too many people these days are trying to convince people that “Jesus is the Father, Jesus is the Son, Jesus is the Holy Spirit”, “Jesus IS God”. This is actually blasphemy, denying the Father.

One popular preacher/commentator I saw on fb several times recently said that Paul was warning the congregation about Islam when he wrote a warning ‘if anyone preaches another Gospel’. No! Islam is not a “gospel” at all! Paul was talking bout another “Jesus“, a different Yeshua!  A perversion of The Gospel. The ‘Jesus’ of far too many people today is different than the one the apostles preached! This is what Paul actually said:

“I am afraid that just as the serpent, through his deceitfulness, misled Eve, so your minds might be corrupted from the perfection that is in Messiah.  For if he who has come to you declares another Yeshua whom we have not declared, or if you have received another spirit which you had not received, or another “good news/gospel” which you had not accepted, you might give in.”! (2 Cor 11:3-4)

Paul is warning that people could perish by accepting an altered version of who Yeshua is; and if so, they have received the wrong “spirit”. No one today is heeding that warning!

Yeshua shows us that He is a man in submission to God, and at the same time, eternal and divine, not inclined to sinning like the rest of us, because of the divine nature that is His essence/being. He submitted to His Father, God, perfectly.

He humbled Himself (Phil 2:5–8). God was still on His throne. Yeshua was sent from within His Father (John 8:42, 16:28) into the womb of a woman, and The Word became a body.  And He chose to be ‘less’ than He had been before the ages, out of submission to His Father’s separate will. Yeshua did not want to die; He chose to, out of obedience to His Father. (“Let this cup pass from me, nevertheless, not my will, but your will, be done”).
He prayed to His Father (John 17:1). He is not a schizophrenic, having multiple personalities in one “substance” and talking within Himself. He and others heard the Father’s voice from Heaven, while He was on earth as a human being, The Son. (Matthew 3:16–17, Mark 9:2–7, John 12:27–30)
He obeyed His Father all the way to the tree of execution (John 14:31).
And His Father is the one who raised Him from the dead (Acts 2:24, 32; Rom 6:4).

Then, the Father gave Him the Name above every name (Phil 2:9–11).
Gave — Yeshua did not seize it, nor assume it. He received it.

That’s why:

Not because Yeshua is the Father, but because the Father bestowed His own authority upon His Son (Matt 28:18; John 5:26–27).

Yeshua is a man (1 Tim 2:5), yet divine in nature because He bears His Father’s Name, glory, Spirit, and authority (John 5:22–23; Col 1:19).

This is the biblical Messiah. And it is from the Son of God, a man submitted to God as our example, that we draw our authority to declare [preach] the truth, and to save people. People are not saved if they do not have The Father, and The Son.

“For The Father does not judge any man, but He has entrusted all judgment to The Son; so that every man should honor The Son, just as he honors The Father”  (John 5).

Relational Passages Most Churches Skip Over

Read the Gospels with fresh eyes, and the relationship is unmistakable:

You cannot flatten these verses into a single ‘being’ without forcing Scripture to bow to men’s traditions. Either the Father goes away, or the Son does. Today, people have killed God the Father and placed “Jesus” on His throne.

And Yet — Don’t Ignore the Divine Passages

There are passages that present Yeshua in divine terms:

  • “The Word [of/from God] became a body [flesh]” (John 1:14).

  • “In Him dwells all the fullness of the divine [not ‘godhead’ – a made up word] ” (Col 2:9).

  • Every knee will bow to Him who bears His Father’s Name. (Phil 2:10–11), to the glory of His Father!

  • He receives worship (Matt 28:17; Rev 5:12–13). [btw, the Spirit does NOT receive worship! We do not address the Spirit in prayer! NOT another ‘god’]

But none of these erase the distinction between Father and Son (John 14:28; 1 Cor 11:3). They reveal a man filled with the fullness of the divine, the perfect bearer of His Father’s Name, just as He bore it in angelic form in the “Old Testament” (Ex 23:20–21; John 17:11–12).

Yeshua is divine by nature, not because He is the Father, but because the Father has poured everything of Himself into His Son (John 3:34–35; John 5:20–23, Heb 1:1-4).

The Last Days Warning: A Different Jesus

Paul warned plainly:
There is such a thing as “another Jesus” (2 Cor 11:3–4), and they were already preaching it 2,000 years ago!

A Jesus who doesn’t match the apostolic message.
A Jesus who absorbs the Father’s identity instead of obeying Him.
A Jesus who erases the Father–Son relationship entirely.

In the last days, the danger isn’t a shortage of “christs”.
It’s an abundance of counterfeits (Matt 24:4–5, 23–24).

The biblical Yeshua:

  • Has a God (John 20:17). [If it is Himself, that is ‘self worship’, idolatry, since He IS a man!]

  • Lives because of the Father (John 6:57).

  • Does His works through the Father (John 14:10).

  • Receives authority from the Father (John 5:26–27).

  • One day returns that authority to the Father (1 Cor 15:24–28).

A Messiah with no Father is not the Messiah of Scripture.
That’s an idol wearing His name. It is made up, by men.

Return to the Son

Return to the One the Father sent (1 John 4:9).
Return to the Name the Father bestowed (Phil 2:9).
Return to the Man whom God raised and seated at His right hand (Acts 2:32–36; Ps 110:1).

Return to Yeshua the Messiah, the Son of God (John 20:31).
The One whose Name saves (Acts 4:12).
The One who will rule until every enemy is conquered (Ps 110:1; 1 Cor 15:25).
And the One who will return everything to His Father, restoring the order that has been from the beginning:

One God, and His Anointed Son (1 Cor 8:6).
