Yokhanan Alef 4 – יוחנן א פרק ד

t.o.c.

1Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from Elohim, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2By this you know the Ru’akh of Elohim: every spirit that confesses that Yeshua the Mashi’akh has come in the flesh is from Elohim. 3And every spirit that does not confess Yeshua has come in the flesh is not from Elohim; this is the spirit of the false Mashi’akh, which you have heard is coming, and even now it is already in the world.

7You are from Elohim, my children, and you have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 5They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from Elohim; whoever knows Elohim listens to us, and whoever is not from Elohim does not listen to us. By this we discern the Ru’akh of Truth and the spirit of deception.

7My beloved, let us love one another; for love is from Elohim; and every one who loves is born of Elohim and knows Elohim.  8He who does not love does not know Elohim; for Elohim is love.  9By this was the love of Elohim toward us made known, for Elohim sent His Ben HaYakhid into the world, that we might live through Him.  10Herein is love, not that we loved Elohim, but that Elohim loved us and sent His Son to make atonement for our sins.  11My beloved, if Elohim so loved us, we ought also to love one another.  12No man has seen Elohim at any time. If we love one another, Elohim abides in us, and His love is perfected in us; 13hereby we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Ru’akh.

14And we have seen and do testify that HaAv sent His Son to be the Moshi’ah of the world.  15Whoever shall confess that Yeshua is Ben HaElohim, Elohim abides in Him and He in Elohim.  16And we have believed and have known the love that Elohim has for us. Elohim is love; and he who dwells in love abides in Elohim.

17Herein is His love made perfect in us, so that we may have boldness in Yom HaDin; because as He is, so are we in this world.  18There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear is tormenting.  He who fears is not made perfect in love.  19We love Elohim because He first loved us.  20If a man says, “I love Elohim,” and yet hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love Elohim whom he has not seen?  21And this mitzvah we have received from Him, that he who loves Elohim ought to love his brother also.
