I saw several reports recently that scientists have [finally] discovered a sixth ocean. This one way below the surface of the earth.
I used to work with a bunch of science geeks, at a few different companies I worked for, and the various customers and departments that I worked with. In several conversations over the years, I asserted that I believed there was far more water under the earth than other stuff.
They laughed.
Many of them thought I was ignorant. My redneck accent, I’m sure, helped them arrive at that conclusion, along with my source being the Bible.
But, here is my source:
Genesis 7:
11In the six-hundredth year of the life of No’akh, in the second khodesh, on the seventeenth day of the khodesh, on the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
Most ‘scientists’ do not believe in a global flood. Back in about 2,000, the leading evolutionist at the time said that for there to have been a flood, there would have had to have been a causation, an outside source. The scriptures answer that as well:
“and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights.”
But, people choose not to believe in God, and not to believe the Word of God over ‘scientists’ who think they are smarter than God, and way smarter than some ancient, tribal Jews.
There is more than one biblical witness of the ocean below the surface:
Genesis 8
2the fountains also of the deep and the windows of heaven were stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.
Proverbs 8:
28When He made firm the skies above, when the fountains of the deep showed their might,
29When He gave to the sea His decree, that the waters should not transgress His Khok, when He appointed the foundations of the earth;
30Then I was by Him, as one that nursed; and I was daily all delight, playing always before Him…
Of course, in the passage in proverbs, ‘wisdom’ is being personified, and it is foreshadowing Yeshua, who is the force behind God’s creation, His internal “Word”, or will. But that’s another topic.
Nevertheless, the ‘scientists’ have indeed found what The Word has said is there, for 6,000 years. And I am not in the least bit surprised.
They keep finding stuff that is punching holes in their old earth and evolutionary theories, but are still unwilling to consider, “you’re doing it [science] all wrong.” You cannot declare something as fact in the scientific method without indefatigable proof. Evolution has not been ‘proven’, but only ‘believed,’ and their every hypothesis is framed in that framework. All the sciences. So, everything they ‘think’ they know is tainted by their arrogant bias toward a very weak theory.
I think, personally, that they are probably still wrong about what they think is down there, based on other verses, but, who am I? I can’t wait until all their ‘work’ is proven to be what it is: idolatry.
