When I was young, I heard adults assert that Ronald Reagan, when he was running for president against Jimmy Carter, was the ‘anti christ’. Their reason? Because there were six letters in each of his names: R-o-n-a-l-d = 6, W-i-l-s-o-n = 6 R-e-a-g-a-n = 6.
The absurdity of it was laughable to me, even as a young teenager. While I did not understand the concept of an “anti christ” or ‘the’ anti christ very well at that time, I knew that Reagan was not he, and that basing it on the number of letters in his name was asinine.
Since then, I’ve seen many more absurdities on the matter. The most common and frequent one I’ve seen of late is the logo of the “Monster” drink, where the “M” is purported to be made up of three “vavs”, where the Hebrew letter vav, the sixth letter, has a value of six, and thus the monster drink is a sign of the mark of the beast, since ‘monster’ also means ‘beast’. The claw marks do indeed look like vavs, but that is likely coincidence. Even if it is meant to look that way, and the maker was cognizant of the mark of the beast, it, in and of itself, is not that mark.
Similarly, ‘www’ in internet protocol is also three vavs, so the internet is the anti christ.
I was reading the prayers this morning when this surfaced. And it occurred to me that so many people are jaded about even the possibility of the end occurring because of all the absurdities that people of ‘faith’ put forth. There are indeed probably some who have found me to be absurd. I try not to be. I try to do my homework, and I do not say anything absolutely unless I know it to be absolute.
I must qualify all of this to say that, yes, there are many signs of the coming “Anti Messiah” already in the world. But, that has been true since 2,000 years ago. It’s not a new thing. John the apostle said it:
18My children, it is the last time; and as you have heard that a false Mashi’akh [Messiah, i.e. ‘christ’] shall come, even now there are many false Mashi’akhim [Messiahs] and from this we know that it is the last time. Yokhanan Alef 2
We have been in the ‘last time/days’ for 2,000 years. A ‘spirit’ other than God’s will bring bad doctrine into the congregations. We are to test and see if a ‘spirit’ is from God or is not by one litmus:
3And every spirit which does not declare that Yeshua HaMashi’akh is come in flesh is not from Elohim, but it is the spirit of the false Mashi’akh, of whose coming you have heard and who is even now already in the world. Yokhanan Alef 4
So, the ‘spirit’ of the false Messiah is in the world, and has been even since the days of the apostles. Yokhanan and others make this very clear. But, there is a ‘coming one’, a “man of perdition, a ‘son of destruction’, who is going to embody this spirit and take on the role of world ruler, even claiming himself to be “God”, when he is in fact the embodiment of evil. But, he will be very, very appealing to the masses. And he will deny that Yeshua is in the flesh. Many people today already do. In fact, the last century has been the most godless century in man’s history. Russia was once a bastion of faith, but in 1918 was taken over by godless men, who then made faith illegal. China did the same. And the rest of Europe threw off God practically, if not officially. Many in America followed suit. And all of that is indeed the ‘spirit of anti Messiah’, as is Islam, which denies Yeshua is resurrected in a body of flesh. Sadly, many Christians do not believe Yeshua is in a body of flesh, but that he is ‘utterly god’. They do not know Him!
The number of the false Messiah, the ‘beast’, 666, is actually ‘six hundred, sixty, and six’.
This is the ‘number of his name’. After Revelation chapter 13 explains the doings of the coming ‘beast’, it then explains how he will use his own name politically:
16And he [beast] compelled all, both small and great, rich and poor, free men and slaves, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, 17so that no man might buy or sell except he who had the mark of the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18Here is wisdom: let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of the name of a man, and his number is six hundred, and sixty, and six. This ‘mark’ will not be hidden, but it will neither be obvious. It will be subtle, but likely a mark of the pride of all who follow him. Just like Hitler’s followers gladly put on the swastika, so will those who follow this world leader wear his mark. It will be the man’s name, marked on the forehead or hand, or, the number of his name.
Hebrew letters have numeric values. Therefore, names have numeric values. For instance, דניאל is my first name in Hebrew. Each letter has its own numeric value. These five letters are Dalet [4], Nun [50], Yod [10], Alef [1], Lamed [30]. So the final calculation would be 95. If my last name were פרק, then Peh [80], Resh [200], Kof [100] would equal 380, so 380 and 95 is the next step. The problem is, none of us know exactly how the name of “Mashi’akh HaSheker”, the False Messiah, would parse out into numbers, until the human name is public. But, it is not a monster drink or the www. It is a man’s name.
Just to elaborate, the number 6 is the number of man. Man was created on the sixth day. He is incomplete without the number 7, the number of ‘completion’, and creation was ‘completed’ with resting on day 7. No man is complete without the Sabbath of God, so it is likely that this “Man of Perdition” will make the Sabbath illegal. That spirit certainly already did, in 325 A.D., when Constantine made the Sabbath illegal for people who had kept it for nearly 300 years, believing in Yeshua and observing the Sabbath of His Father. Is it any wonder? This same ‘man of perdition’ was predicted to do exactly that: to change the Appointed Times of God, and His Torah:
25And he [the fourth/final beast] shall speak words against Elyon [God Most High], and shall wear out the K’doshim [holy ones] of Elyon; and he shall think to change the Mo’edim [appointed times, ie, Sabbath and feasts of Lev 23] and the Torah; and they shall be given into his hand until a time, and times, and half a time. Daniel 7
Noting all the things that the Son of Destruction will do is beyond the scope of this missive. But, no one will know his name, until such time that he is ruling the whole earth, and forcing people to accept it into their bodies. I personally believe this will be both a ‘mark’ that is in the body and visible, and the behavior of rejecting God and His Messiah utterly. We see that most of the world is already doing that anyway, so we are definitely close. But, no, the ‘mark’ is not manifested as yet. Certainly, it is on its way. But, anyone speaking against the actual mark would probably immediately be put to death for treason against the beloved world leader that most people will think is Jesus, including many ‘christians’ and others who consider themselves people of faith.
