ישוע

What is our standard?

Mine is the written WORD of GOD.

That is also for and especially concerning the Name of Yeshua.

Yeshua / ישוע is His Name in Hebrew. There are so many wing-nut versions of His Name flying around in “Messianic/hebrew roots” circles that it is embarrassing, and a disservice to His Kingdom.

There are hundreds of places in the “Old Testament” texts that show us His name is Yeshua: many places that say things like “יהוה is Salvation” literally spell it out for us. “Yah is my strength and my song, and He has become for me My “Yeshuah” :: “Salvation”. Exodus 15/Isaiah 12

There is an acrostic of His Name, ישוע , in Nehemiah, where also the High Priest who clearly prefigures Yeshua the Messiah is also named ישוע. This same High Priest is seen in Ezra, and in the prophet Zechariah’s writings.

More importantly, however, the most ancient SEMITIC texts of the renewed covenant scriptures, written in Aramaic, have His name recorded as YESHUA / ישוע . Yod, Shin, Vav, Ayin. It was a very common name among men in ancient Israel in Yeshua’s day, and had all but replaced the full version Yehoshua/Joshua, because of the time spent in Babylon [Ezra/Nehemiah/Zecharia days] speaking the sister language, Aramaic.

The short of it is, in the Hebrew and Aramaic ancient texts, His name, ישוע, is found 1,217 times, spelled Yod-Shin-Vav-Ayin.

His Word is our authority on earth.

There is no need to stuff the name יהוה into “Yeshua”, because God has given that Name to Yeshua, thus we call him, יהוה Yeshua HaMashiakh; any other form that merges the Name יהוה with the Name Yeshua is thus redundant. And ignorant.

“Therefore let all the House of Yisra’el know assuredly that Elohim [God His Father] has made this very Yeshua, whom you have executed, both יהוה and Mashi’akh.” Acts 2:36

That is where the appellation “the LORD Jesus Christ” came from. That is what Philippians 2:10-11 spells out plainly for us:

“Reason this within your hearts, which Yeshua HaMashi’akh also reasoned, who, being in the likeness of Elohim, did not consider it robbery to be equal with Elohim; but made Himself of no reputation, and took upon Himself the likeness of a servant, and was in the likeness of the sons of men; and, being found in the form of a son of man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death, even the death of the stake; therefore, Elohim [God His Father] also has highly exalted Him and GIVEN HIM A NAME which is above every name, that at the Name of Yeshua every knee should bow, of those in heaven, of those on earth, and those under the earth, and every tongue shall confess that He, Yeshua HaMashi’akh, is יהוה , to the glory of Elohim His Father.”

Please reconsider your errant thinking.
