A Yeshiva is Best!

“Come, follow Me.” — Those were the words that changed the world.

Yeshua did not establish a university.

He did not gather scholars into lecture halls to pursue degrees. He called fishermen, craftsmen, tax collectors, and ordinary people. They walked with Him. They asked questions. They watched Him serve. They listened. They made mistakes. They learned Scripture while living it.

That is what a yeshiva has always been.

The Hebrew word simply means “a sitting.” It is a place where students gather around a teacher—not merely to collect information, but to imitate a way of life. “Talmid” is the Hebrew word for ‘disciple’, and talmid means “student of Torah”.

For nearly two thousand years, much of ministerial education has gradually adopted the model of the modern university. There are classrooms, tuition bills, transcripts, academic rankings, and diplomas hanging on walls. Those things have their place. Education is valuable. Careful study is essential.

But Scripture asks a different question:

Has the student become like his Teacher?

That is the goal. That we imitate Messiah [1 Cor 11:1-2]

A Ministry, Not a Business

Our Torah of Messiah Yeshiva exists for one purpose:

To equip servants of Messiah.

Not customers.

Not clients.

Not consumers.

Servants. Friends.

That is why our studies are freely available to anyone who desires to learn. We believe the Word of God should never be hidden behind a paywall. Those seeking formal ordination or certificates simply help support the ministry through voluntary giving, following the biblical principle that those who receive spiritual instruction may share materially with those who labor in teaching.

Nobody here is trying to sell a degree.

We are trying to prepare faithful laborers.

Learning in Community

Reading books is important.

Watching videos is helpful.

But there is something irreplaceable about studying the Scriptures together.

Questions become conversations.

Conversations become friendships.

Friendships become discipleship.

For years we have walked verse by verse through the Scriptures together, studying Torah, the Prophets, the Gospels, the Apostolic Writings, Hebrew language, biblical history, theology, and practical ministry—not as isolated students, but as a fellowship seeking to obey the Messiah together.

Knowledge grows.

Character grows with it.

Ordination Cannot Be Purchased

Throughout Scripture, men were not called because they possessed impressive credentials.

They were called because יהוה appointed them.

Moses did not apply.

Joshua was chosen.

David was anointed while tending sheep.

Amos said,

“I was no prophet, nor the son of a prophet…”

The apostles likewise received no diploma from Jerusalem.

Their authority rested in the One who had called them.

A certificate cannot create a calling.

A diploma cannot manufacture spiritual maturity.

Only God can appoint a shepherd.

Ordination, at its best, is not the creation of ministry—it is the recognition of ministry that God has already begun.

More Than Information

Many people know Greek.

Many know Hebrew.

Many can debate theology for hours.

But can they shepherd a family through grief?

Can they patiently teach someone coming to faith for the first time?

Can they correct with gentleness?

Can they serve without recognition?

The Kingdom does not merely need educated people.

It needs faithful people.

Scripture tells us that an overseer must first demonstrate character long before he demonstrates scholarship.

Knowledge matters.

Character matters more.

Walk With Us

If you are considering seminary, ask yourself an honest question.

Are you primarily seeking a credential…

…or are you seeking to become more like Messiah?

If God eventually leads you into formal academic study, wonderful.

But wherever He leads you, never mistake a degree for discipleship.

Our invitation is simple.

Come.

Sit.

Study.

Ask questions.

Test everything by the Scriptures.

Grow alongside fellow believers.

Learn Hebrew.

Walk through the entire counsel of God.

Prepare not merely for a career in ministry—

Prepare for a lifetime of serving the King.

Whether you seek personal growth, deeper understanding of the Scriptures, or God’s confirmation of a calling to teach and shepherd His people, there is a seat waiting for you.

As our Master said:

“Take My yoke upon you, and learn from Me.”

That has always been the true yeshiva.
