On Friday morning, I read Psalm 106. I have a personal habit of reading a psalm a day, and this one was on deck for this Friday morning.
The song begins with praise to God, and acknowledgment of His eternal compassion. “For His compassion endures forever.”
After praising Him and honoring right living and true justice, then we read: פָּקְדֵנִי בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ , ‘visit me with your Yeshua’, or ‘remember me in Your Salvation’.
After musing on Salvation [in Yeshua], then there is mournfulness. “Happy are those who mourn”, Yeshua said. The psalm had just said “Happy are those who keep your commandments”. The mournfulness of Yeshua is sorrow over our own sin. We become happy through that regret, by turning to Yeshua for forgiveness.
The mournfulness of the Psalm begins in verse 6:
6We have sinned with our fathers, we have done iniquitously, we have dealt wickedly.
Then, the part that ‘got’ me as I read, was the four verses that follow.
37Yes, they [Israel] sacrificed their sons and their daughters unto demons,
38And shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed unto the idols of Kena’an; and the land was polluted with blood.
39Thus were they defiled with their works, and went astray in their doings.
40Therefore was the wrath of יהוה kindled against His people, and He abhorred His inheritance.
I remember preaching to my coworkers back in the 90s concerning the presidential candidate who supported abortion. It blows my mind that we have tolerated that sin for so long. I was only roughly 8 years old when Roe v. Wade made it humanly legal across our land at a federal level. I remember wondering how we got there, but only later realized I did not fully understand it as a child. One of my coworkers commented at lunch about it, and I, a usually very quiet observer, interjected into the conversation, “It is MURDER. A child is a human child as soon as it is conceived. God gives life into the soul of that child at conception, which is the very scientific definition of LIFE. Jeremiah said of God, “I formed you in the WOMB!” My immediate supervisor said, ‘You just sent a cold chill down my spine’. That was roughly 20 years into Roe v. Wade. I told the coworkers that if we don’t repent, we will be destroyed. As often as I can, I remind individual voters of that.
We have come close to that downfall several times since then, and, in my opinion, it still looms over us.
There has been recent exposure of child trafficking, and various ideas about what people do with those children. I haven’t seen hard evidence sufficient to validate some of those claims, but I don’t doubt that there is some truth in them. But, we have absolute hard facts about mothers walking into clinics and doctors tearing babies apart in the womb, jamming scissor-like instruments into their brains, poisoning infants with chemicals, and other modes of infanticide softened in the human mind by the euphemism ‘abortion’. It is murder.
The last count I knew that America was guilty of was 60 million babies. It’s probably much higher. In just over 50 years, 60 million + babies’ lives were terminated so people can have a few moments of pleasure. Do we not recognize how very diabolical that is, and how very much God grieves over this country?
Now, here we are fifty years later, and so many people cannot even decide what a woman is. We have perverted the idea of marriage, legally! People demand that everyone participate in their personal delusion, “I identify as….”, and we sit by and act like the world has not gone mad?
It’s not a coincidence what has happened this week [congressional hearings where liberals avoid easy, pointed questions] being so relevant to what I read this morning. But, America has turned away from right thinking. It started long before Roe v. Wade. It goes back to early Darwinism and the perversion of the Creator’s work. God CREATED us. We read Psalm 100 every single day, our congregants, and we acknowledge “He has made us, and not we ourselves!” That verse overturns evolutionary thought every day.
When America turned away from believing in Creation, the door opened for the ‘gay’ community to ‘come out’ in the 1920s. The Scopes Monkey Trial dovetailed with that to force schools to begin to teach evolution. The problem is, they did not teach it as another ‘origin’ theory, but as if it were fact, to the exclusion of creation as a scientific theory. Any honest scientist who knows the basic principles of good science, the ‘scientific method’, knows that evolution is not fact. It is one interpretive theory on the evidence, based on many, many false assumptions.
After that, this new godless thought pattern caused the Supreme Court to decide that prayer in schools is wrong. Check what has happened to American education since that decision.
Then, the ‘free love’ movement made fornication not only acceptable, but chic. And what followed, on-demand infanticide.
Don’t get me wrong, I know that there are many people who resisted these things, but they stand on shaky foundations. They do not honor ALL of God’s commands, so they equivocate when it comes to what TRUTH is.
Peter predicted all of this:
2 Peter 3:3
“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the Last Days mockers who scoff, following after their own lusts 4and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since our fathers died, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.” 5Of this they are willingly ignorant, that by The WORD of God the heavens were [created] of old, and the earth emerged from water and by means of the water; 6and those men, because of whose deeds the world of that time was flooded, perished under that water; 7but the present heavens and earth are sustained by His Word, and are reserved for fire on The Day of Judgment, which is the day of the destruction of ungodly men.”
People have actually decided to be IGNORANT about Creation! And that is the signal that the Day of Judgment is not far away.
It is obvious godlessness today. People call themselves “Democratic Socialists” and we act like they are a legitimate, harmless political party in America. No! They are GODLESS communists. They pervert the scriptures if they cite them at all, like the Texas excuse for a politician who does exactly that, without shame, and is garnering far more support than he should.
America should be utterly disgusted by overt perversion of God’s word on: sexuality, marriage, promiscuity, murder of babies, self worship through ‘identity’, and all the atrocities that are thrown in our faces all the time. I suppose many believers just think it’s a phase, and that America will be preserved by the ‘middle’. That’s what Germany probably thought.
It may sound fanciful and outlandish to say that our children have been sacrificed to demons, since few are putting them on an altar. But have no doubt, the darkness is controlling those who do so without question of conscience. I remember when in New York the ‘leaders’ rejoiced when postpartum murder [abortion after birth] was approved by a court. They were smiling and rejoicing. And America just kept watching movies and eating popcorn. The psalm actually explains ‘how’ they offered to demons: “[they] shed innocent blood, even the blood of their sons and of their daughters, whom they sacrificed …. and the land was polluted with blood.”
Yes, I took a phrase out: not to dodge it, but to focus on it: unto the idols of Kena’an כְּנַעֲן : Canaan, the word Canaanite, was defined as ‘merchants’ in the times of the prophets. “Idols” here is different than the word in the Ten Commandments, pesel/פסל for ‘graven image’. It is עָצָב :

Psalm 115:4
עֲצַבֵּיהֶם כֶּסֶף וְזָהָב
“Their idols are silver and gold…” Silver and gold are the essence of merchants. People create their forms of worship to SELL. America’s churches have been doing that for decades now. -
Isaiah 48:5
“…my idol (עַצְבִּי) commanded them.” Here, the supplicant is giving credit to manmade things for what God has done. That is very definition of evolution.

Hosea 4:17
“Ephraim is joined to idols.” Ephraim’s idolatry was worshipping God the Creator in the forms of worship of those around them. Most Christian religions do that to some degree or other today.
For the sake of all the disobedience in our land, people are still aborting babies. And other forms of child abuse are happening because of the lack of the acknowledgment of SPECIAL CREATION: parents are using their children as lab rats, experimenting with new medicine/vaccines and ‘identity religion’, the ultimate worship of self. “Be your true self” or ‘be true to yourself’, etc, is the mantra, when Yeshua instructed us to “DENY YOURSELF.”
Do we believe that America is so special, ourselves being so much more advanced yet having so very little regard for the sanctity of life, that God would just look away? Would He not be absolutely unjust to punish Israel for lesser crimes than what America is now doing?
The average American does not realize how blood-soaked our land is. But the average American should begin to see that denying the plain interpretation of God’s Word has gotten us into a spiritual MESS.
I realize I sound alarmist. But that is exactly how the harbinger of danger is supposed to sound. I do not have some twisted desire to see America destroyed, but I do see it coming, because I know God is a JUST God, and will not spare a people for their indifference to what is going on in their own land.
Because of the lack of understanding of Creation, the WHOLE WORLD bought the LIE that a ‘new disease’ was going to kill us all. There are no new diseases naturally evolving. Mankind is ‘creating’ them by manipulating existing forms. That was obvious in late 2019, but everyone believed the LIE that was foisted on the whole world. And some are so naturally trusting of governments that they still believe the lie. “They will be willfully ignorant“, Peter said.
There is a response for all of this, and according to the Gospel of Mark, Yeshua’s first words were “Turn back to God” [repent, which in Hebrew means to turn back to God’s Commandments].
Though early America had many different interpretations of God’s commandments, the vast majority held to some common beliefs: the Nine Commandments. [Most ignored the fourth commandment under exchange for a different day]. But, in order to believe in the Ten Most Important Things/Commands, one must believe the first one: “I am יהוה Your God.” That is the God of Creation. Because people have believed in human evolution while at the same time claiming to believe in Jesus, there is a gap in their understanding of who Yeshua is, and of what God wants to see in His people. America needs to turn back to the basics of Scripture.
America may or may not repent. History suggests that nations often continue in rebellion until judgment finally comes. But whether America repents is not the first question. The first question is whether we as individuals will repent. That has been where God has directed my efforts, not toward mass political commentary.
Every generation must decide whether it will bow before the Creator or before the idols of its own making. We cannot change fifty years of national rebellion overnight, but we can turn our own hearts back to יהוה . We can reject the lies of our age, love what He loves, hate what He calls evil, and teach our children to walk in His commandments. That is where revival has always begun—not in legislatures or courts, but in men and women who humbled themselves before God.
Yeshua’s first public proclamation was simple: “Turn back to God.” That call has never expired. If judgment is approaching, then there has never been a more urgent time to return to the Creator, to honor His Word above the opinions of our age, and to walk faithfully until the King Himself appears.
