Is that me, worn out from the move? Or, is that our President?
It may be a fitting image for both!
We moved into our new home about a week and 1/2 ago. It was a long road getting here, but God was so gracious to us, showing us His perfect timing and attention to details yet again. We cannot say how blessed we are, nor give enough thanks and praise to Him! Will post pictures to social media maybe, when we have everything in place.
It has been a mite difficult to keep up with the news of late, given all that we’ve had going on. My new study is, however, ready for action. I have but one more wall hanging to hang, my family heirloom of all the Wartime veterans of the Crouch family since Revolutionary days, but I am excited about making new memories in my new Study, writing more, preparing Sabbath ‘drash’ papers, finishing translating His Word, teaching, all from this very quiet little cottage we now have in the Montgomery woods.
The news I have seen has only been further disappointment in our country. We managed to watch about 2/3 of the Presidential debate, which was nauseating at best. Watching the person who claims the title “President” of the most powerful country in the world flounder like a bumbling fool before the whole world was embarrassing. I think many felt that way after.
For me, however, the great disappointment is that only now are some people seeing that this individual is but a puppet. Some of us have known since before he was nominated that he would merely be a pawn in the hands of the real power-brokers of the left. If a voter cannot see that now, they are choosing ignorance over reality. It is the voting base which grossly disappoints me. That so many Americans would consider this person a viable candidate FOUR YEARS AGO, much less now, is telling of how out of kilter the American public is.
Add to that all the plethora of problems we face: rampant immigration/infiltration, abortion, even late term abortions linger in certain states, sexual deviance in most of our government and in the vast majority of our entertainment, racial manipulation to engender hatred, a failing education system in most places, and on and on, and no one seems to want to solve the problem.
As simplistic as it sounds, the solution truly is repentance.
Because of stereotyping of religious behaviors in our culture, when anyone today says ‘repent,’ an overly-coiffed evangelical comes to mind, a ‘bible thumper’ filled with the spirit of condemnation emerges in the imagination, and ears shut down from what the word actually means: turn back to God’s Way. That way is the instructions He gives us in His word.
Repent truly means simply to ‘turn around’. But, the biblical extraction is ‘turn back to the Torah’. When John the Immerser preached “Repent”, he said, “Shuvu”, speaking to every Israeli to ‘turn back to God’. Yeshua started His Gospel with the very same idea. Jews then knew exactly what the word meant; that’s actually how they would say ‘turn around’. The word, to them, did not have 100s or 1000s of years of religious baggage.
I would like to plea with America to RETURN TO YOUR ROOTS. America was indeed founded by a vast majority of colonists who were also ‘religionists’. They wisely did not establish a state religion, but they did inculcate faith into the government. The first act of George Washington as President was to lead congress to a church to pray!
Further, however, I would like to express the imperfections we see in America are not only because people turned away from ‘religion’ during the gilded age, but that all the churches that were founded in America [most of them today had their start in the 1840s and after, latecomers like the Church of Christ and other heretical congregations came in the late 1800s and early 1900s] were already led astray by the presumed truths they inherited from Catholicism and Anglicanism, which are not truth at all.
If America would simply turn to the Scriptures and study them as a single unit, keeping them in context, acknowledging the rich culture of Israel and the Jewish people in them, and not treating that as a pariah, then we would learn indeed to be a ‘more perfect union’, as we as individuals would be tripping over ourselves to please God and each other.
We are watching the whole western world be led about by a hidden puppeteer[s], and the puppet we suffer with is tattered and worn out. And it took him embarrassing the whole nation to get people finally to acknowledge his incompetence. The problem is, this could complicate the election process even further. Who does the left have to replace him? Only a worse puppet; one that might be more convincing than the current farcical ‘president’. All the issues with which we struggle will, of course, be bandied back and forth, and the voting public will still believe the politicians are actually ‘trying’. No. The whole world is indeed a stage.
The previously mentioned issues we face will continue, and worsen. The religious will continue to argue, and ignore The Word of God. People of faith, the vast majority, can’t see that they are indeed following the Pied Piper. The current pope recently said ‘the human heart is basically good’, which is in direct contrast to scriptural teaching about fallen mankind. The churches in America do not confront sin, but embrace it, most notably appointing LGBTQ, SLKSDFJLWKEJFRELJ and anyone with a computer as a ‘priest,’ ‘pope’, ‘bishop’, ‘apostle’ etc., and America’s people, the majority of whom still claim to be Christian, consume the vast majority of the world’s entertainment, which is laden with paganism and perversion.
One might say, ‘but yes, we are making changes,’ and cite the recent efforts of certain states to post the Ten Commandments, teach the Bible in schools, etc; those are indeed good things! But, they do not create a society that commands respect for The Word of God. Christianity capitulated to the intelligentsia and bought off on the notion of an old earth and evolutionary thought; they shut down any real dialogue about it. People refuse to teach theories as theories, but demand that theories be accepted as fact, permeating the culture with the notion, and implying that the Word of God is unreliable.
“Let God be true, and every MAN a LIAR”. What does not match The Word of God must be held as theory, until the actual scientific method can prove otherwise. Until now, evolution and old earth are still ‘theories’; LGBTQ is still sin and perversion given a new label in order to make them socially palatable; and a puppet for president is acceptable to most.
The cure for all of it is to turn to His Word, obey it, and teach truth. When Yeshua said “Go into all the world and make “talmidim””[disciples], He was telling His students to go and make students of His Word. Paul did. Few since actually have. They have become students of the pope, or of Luther, or Calvin, or the Baptist Standard, or whichever new guy they find that tickles their itching ears and helps people remain comfortable in their particular brand of sin.
