1There was at that place a man of the P’rushim, named Nak’dimon, a leader of the Y’hudim. 2He came at night to Yeshua and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent from Elohim; for no man can do these miracles that you are doing unless Elohim is with him.” 3Yeshua answered, saying to him, “Amein, amein, I say to you, if a man is not born anew, he cannot see Malkhut HaElohim.” 4Nak’dimon said to Him, “How can an old man be born anew? Can he enter again a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?” 5Yeshua answered, saying to him, “Amein, amein, I say to you, if a man is not born of water and HaRu’akh, he cannot enter into Malkhut HaElohim. 6What is born of flesh is flesh; and what is born of HaRu’akh is spirit. 7Do not be surprised because I have told you that you all must be born anew. 8The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you do not know from where it comes and where it goes; such is every man who is born of HaRu’akh.” 9Nak’dimon answered, saying to Him, “How can these things be?” 10Yeshua answered, “You are a teacher of Yisra’el, and yet you do not understand these things? 11Amein, amein, I say to you, we speak only what we know, and we testify only to what we have seen; and yet you do not accept our testimony. 12If I have told you about earthly things and you do not trust, how then will you trust in me if I tell you about heavenly things? 13No man has ascended to Heaven except Him who came down from Heaven, even Ben HaAdam who is in Heaven. 14Just as Moshe lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so Ben HaAdam is ready to be lifted up, 15so that every man who trusts in Him should not perish, but have Khayei Olam. 16For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His Ben Yakhid, so that whoever firmly trusts in Him should not perish, but have Khayei Olam. 17For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world should live because of Him. 18He who firmly trusts in Him will not be condemned; and he who does not firmly trust has already been condemned for not trusting in the Name of Ben HaElohim HaYakhid. 19And this is the judgment: that light has come into the world, and yet men have loved darkness more than light, because their works were evil. 20For everyone who does abominable things hates the light, and he does not come to the light, because his works cannot be covered. 21But he who does HaEmet comes to the light, so that his works may be known, that they are done through Elohim.”
22After these things, Yeshua and His Talmidim came to the land of Y’hudah, and He remained there with them and immersed. 23Yokhanan also was immersing at the spring of Einon near to Shalim, because there was much water there; and they came and were immersed. 24For Yokhanan was not yet cast into prison. 25Now it happened that a dispute arose between one of Yokhanan’s Talmidim and a Y’hudi about the ceremony of purifying. 26So they came to Yokhanan and told him, “Teacher, He who was with you at the Yarden crossing, concerning whom you testified, behold, He also is immersing, and a great many are coming to Him.” 27Yokhanan answered, saying to them, “No man can receive anything of his own will, except it is given to him from Heaven. 28You yourselves bear me witness that I said I am not the Mashi’akh, but only a messenger to go before Him. 29He who has a bride is the bridegroom; and the friend of the bridegroom is he who stands up and listens to Him, and rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice; this my joy, therefore, is fulfilled. 30He must increase, and I must decrease. 31For He who has come from above is above all; and he who is of the earth is of the earth, and he speaks of earthly things; but He who has come from Heaven is above all. 32And He testifies of what He has seen and heard, and yet no man accepts His testimony. 33He who accepts His testimony has set his seal that Elohim is true. 34For He whom Elohim has sent speaks Divrei Elohim; for Elohim did not give HaRu’akh by measure. 35HaAv loves HaBen, and has placed everything under His hand. 36He who believes in HaBen has Khayei Olam; and he who does not obey HaBen shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim shall remain on him.”
