1Now Yeshua, full of The Ru’akh HaKodesh, returned from the Yarden, and HaRu’akh carried Him away into the wilderness 2forty days, in order that He might be tempted by the accuser. And He did not eat anything in those days; and when they were over, at last He became hungry. 3And the accuser said to Him, “If you are Ben HaElohim, command this stone to become bread.” 4Yeshua answered, saying to him, “It is written, ‘It is not by bread alone that man can live, but by every word of Elohim.’” 5Then HaSatan took Him up to a high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the earth in a short time. 6And the accuser said to Him, “I will give you all this power and its glory, which are delivered to me, and I give it to whom I please; 7if therefore you worship me, it will all be yours.” 8Yeshua answered, saying to him, “It is written, ‘You shall worship יהוה your Elohim, and Him only you shall serve.’” 9And he brought Him to Yerushalayim and made Him to stand up on the ledge of the Heikhal, and said to Him, “If you are Ben HaElohim, throw yourself down from here; 10for it is written, ‘He will command His Malakhim concerning you, to keep watch over you; 11And they will take you up in their arms, so that even your foot may not strike a stone.’” 12Yeshua answered, saying to him, “It is said, ‘You shall not test יהוה your Elohim.’” 13When the accuser was through with all his temptations, he left Him for a while.
14So Yeshua returned in the power of HaRu’akh to the Galil; and the fame about Him went out through all the country round about. 15And He taught in their Beit K’nessets, and was praised by every man. 16And He came to Natzrat, where he had been brought up; and He entered the Beit K’nesset on Yom HaShabbat, as was His custom, and stood up to read. 17And the book of Yesha-Yahu HaNavi was given to Him. And Yeshua opened the book and found the place where it is written, 18“The Ru’akh of Adonai יהוה is upon me; because of this He has anointed me to declare good news to the poor; and He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, and to proclaim liberty to the captives and sight to the blind; to strengthen with forgiveness those who are oppressed, 19and to declare the year of the favor of יהוה .” And20 He rolled up the scroll and gave it to the Shamash, and went and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the Beit K’nesset were fixed on Him. 21And He began to say to them, “Today, this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.” 22And all testified about Him, and were amazed by the words of grace which came out of His mouth. And they said, “Is not this man the son of Yosef?” 23Yeshua said to them, “You might probably tell me this mashal, ‘Physician, heal yourself; and all that we heard you did in K’far Nakhum, do also here in your own city.’” 24Then He said, “Truly I say to you, no navi is acceptable in his own city. 25For truly I say to you, there were many widows in Yisra’el in the days of Eli-Yahu HaNavi when Heaven was closed for three years and six months and there was a great famine throughout the land; 26yet Eli-Yahu was not sent to one of them, but to Zarefat of Tzidon, to a widow. 27And there were many lepers in Yisra’el in the days of Elisha HaNavi, and yet not one of them was cleansed except Na’aman the Arami.” 28When those who were in the Beit K’nesset heard these things, they were all filled with anger. 29And they rose up and took Him outside the city, and brought Him to the edge of the mountain on which their city was built, that they might throw Him down from a cliff. 30But He passed through the midst of them and went away.
31And He went down to K’far Nakhum, a city of the Galil, and He taught them on each Shabbat. 32And they were astonished at His teaching, because His word had power. 33And there was in the Beit K’nesset a man who had an unclean, demonic spirit, and he cried in a loud voice, 34saying, “Let me alone; what have we in common, O Yeshua HaNatzri? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are, Kadosh HaElohim!” 35And Yeshua rebuked him, saying, “Keep quiet, and come out of him.” The demon threw him in the midst and went out of him, and did him no harm. 36And every man was seized with amazement, and the people spoke among themselves, saying, “What kind of word is this, that He commands unclean spirits with authority and power, and they go out!” 37And the fame about Him went out through all the country around them. 38And when Yeshua left the Beit K’nesset, He entered the house of Shimon. And Shimon’s mother-in-law was suffering with a severe fever, and they besought Him for her. 39And He stood by her and rebuked the fever, and it left her; and she rose up immediately and ministered to them. 40When the sun was setting, all who had sick people suffering from various diseases brought them to Him; and He laid his hand on each one of them and healed them. 41Demons also came out of many, who cried out saying, “You are the Mashi’akh, Ben HaElohim.” And He rebuked them, and would not allow them to speak, that people might not know that He was the Mashi’akh. 42And in the morning He came out and went to a desert place, and the people were looking for Him, and came where He was; and they held Him so that He might not leave them. 43But Yeshua said to them, “I must declare Malkhut HaElohim in other cities also, because I was sent for this.” 44And He declared in the Beit K’nessets of the Galil.
