1And when the days of Shavu’ot were counted, while they were assembled together, 2suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3And there appeared to them tongues which were divided like flames of fire, and they rested upon each of them. 4And they were all filled with The Ru’akh HaKodesh, and they began to speak in various languages, according to whatever HaRu’akh gave them to speak.
5Now there dwelt at Yerushalayim G-d fearing men and Yehudim from every nation under heaven. 6And as the sound took place, all the people gathered together, and they were confused because every man heard them speak in his own language. 7And they were all amazed, and marveled, saying one to another, “Behold, are not all these who speak from the Galil? 8How is it that we hear every man in our own native language? 9Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those who dwell in Mesopotamia, Yehudim, and Cappadocians, and those from Pontos, and Asia Minor, 10and those from the region of Phrygia, and of Pamphylia, and of Mitzrayim, and of the regions of Lybia near Cyrene, and those who have come from Rome, both Yehudim and proselytes, 11and those from Crete, and Arabians, behold, we hear them speak in our own languages of the wonderful works of Elohim.” 12And they were all amazed and stunned, saying one to another, “What is happening?” 13Others who were mocking said, “These men are full of choice wine and are drunk.”
14And afterwards Shimon Kefa stood up together with the eleven Talmidim, and lifted up his voice and said to them, “Men, Yehudim, and all that dwell at Yerushalayim, let this be known to you, and hearken to my words; 15for these men are not drunk as you suppose, for behold, it is but the third hour of the day. 16But this is that which was spoken by Yo’el HaNavi: 17“It shall come to pass in the last days, says Elohim, that I will pour out my Ru’akh upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; 18and upon my menservants and upon my maidservants will I pour out my Ru’akh in those days; and they shall prophesy; 19and I will show wonders in the heavens and signs on the earth: blood and fire and vapor of smoke: 20the sun shall be changed into darkness and the moon into blood, before that great and fearful Yom יהוה shall come. 21And it shall come to pass that whoever shall call on the Name of יהוה shall be saved.’ 22Men of Yisra’el, hear these words: Yeshua HaNatzri, a man of Elohim, who appeared among you by miracles and signs and wonders which Elohim did by Him among you, as you yourselves know, 23this man, who was consecrated for this purpose by the foreknowledge and will of Elohim, you have delivered into the hands of wicked men, and you have executed and murdered Him, 24whom Elohim has raised up, having destroyed the pains of Mavet, because it was not possible for She’ol to hold Him. 25For David said concerning Him, ‘I saw יהוה always before me, for He is on my right hand, so that I should not be shaken; 26therefore my heart is comforted and my glory is exalted; even my body shall rest in hope, 27because you will not leave my soul in She’ol, neither will you suffer your Khasid to see decay. 28You have revealed to me the way of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence.’ 29Now, men and brethren, permit me to speak to you openly concerning the Patriarch David, who is dead and buried and whose tomb is with us to this day; 30for he was a Navi, and he knew that Elohim had sworn by an oath to him that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, He would raise up one to sit on his throne. 31So he foresaw and spoke concerning the resurrection of Mashi’akh, that His soul was not left in She’ol, neither did his body see decay. 32This very Yeshua, Elohim has raised up, and we are all His witnesses. 33It is He who is exalted by the right hand of Elohim, and has received from HaAv the promise of The Ru’akh HaKodesh, and has poured out this gift which you now see and hear. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, because he himself said, ‘ יהוה said to My Adon, ‘Sit at my right hand, 35until I make your foes your footstool.’ 36Therefore let all Beit Yisra’el know assuredly that Elohim has made this very Yeshua, whom you have executed, both יהוה and Mashi’akh.”
37When they heard these things, their hearts were sorrowful, and they said to Shimon and the rest of the Shlikhim, “Our brethren, what shall we do?” 38Then Shimon said to them, “Repent and be immersed, every one of you, in the Name of יהוה Yeshua, for the remission of sins, so that you may receive the gift of The Ru’akh HaKodesh. 39For the promise was made to you and to your children, and for all of those who are far off, even as many as the very Elohim shall call.” 40And he testified to them with many other words and besought them, saying, “Save yourselves from this sinful generation.” 41And those men among them who readily accepted his word and trusted were immersed, and about three thousand souls were added in that day.
42And they continued steadfastly in the teaching of the Shlikhim, and fellowshipping in prayer, and in the breaking of bread. 43And fear came upon every soul; and many miracles and wonders were done by the Shlikhim in Yerushalayim. 44And all believers were together and had all things in common; 45and those who had possessions sold them and divided to each man according to his need. 46And they went to the Heikhal every day with one accord; and at home they broke bread and received food with joy and with a pure heart, 47praising Elohim and finding favor with all the people. And Adoneinu daily increased those who obtained life in the assembly.
