Galatim 2 – איגרת שאול אל הגלאטים ב

t.o.c.

1Then, fourteen years later, I went up again to Yerushalayim with Bar-Naba, and took Titus with me also.  2And I went up because of a revelation, and I declared to them HaB’sorah which I declared among the Goyim, and I privately explained to those who were considered leaders among us, lest by any means I had labored or should labor in vain.  3And Titus, also, who was with me, being Arami, was not compelled to be circumcised, 4but because of the false brethren who have come against us to spy out the freedom which we have in Yeshua HaMashi’akh, with the intention of enslaving us; 5to those false brothers we did not submit, not even for an hour, that the truth of HaB’sorah might remain with you.  6Now those who were considered to be important ( what they are makes no difference to me,  for  Elohim does not discriminate among men), even these very persons did not contribute additional knowledge to me.  7But on the contrary, when they saw that HaB’sorah was entrusted to me for the uncircumcision, as HaB’sorah had been entrusted to Kefa for the circumcision, 8 (for he who made Kefa vigorous in the Office of Shali’akh for the circumcision has also made me mighty in the Office of Shali’akh for the Goyim) 9and when they knew of the compassion that had been given to me, then Ya’akov, Kefa, and Yokhanan, who were considered to be pillars, gave to me and Bar-Naba the right hand of fellowship, that we might labor among the Goyim, and they, among the people of circumcision; 10only they would that we should remember the poor, and that I have endeavored to do.

11But when Kefa came to Antioch, I reproved him to his face, because he was to be blamed.  12For before certain men came from Ya’akov, Kefa ate with the Goyim; but after they came, he withdrew and separated himself because he was afraid of them who belonged to the circumcision.  13And all the other Yehudim cast their lot with him on this issue, insomuch that Bar-Naba was also carried away by their dissimulation.  14But when I saw that they were not following uprightly according to the truth of HaB’sorah, I said to Kefa in the presence of them all, “If you, being Yehudim, live after the manner of Arame’ans and not as do the Y’hudim, why do you compel the Goyim who have joined themselves to Yehudah to live as do the Y’hudim?  15For if we who are of Jewish nature and not sinners of the Goyim 16know that a man is not justified by the works of the Torah but by absolute trust in Yeshua HaMashi’akh, even we have trusted in Yeshua HaMashi’akh, that we might be justified by absolute trust in Mashi’akh and not by the works of the Torah; for by the works of the Torah shall no human being be justified.  17But if, while we seek to be justified by Mashi’akh, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Adoneinu Yeshua HaMashi’akh a minister of sin?  What profanity!  18For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I will prove myself to be a transgressor of the Torah.  19For through the Torah I am dead to the Torah, that I might live to Elohim.  20I am executed with Mashi’akh; henceforth it is not I who live, but Mashi’akh who lives in me; and the life which now I live in the flesh I live by absolute trust in Ben HaElohim, who loved me and gave Himself for me.  21I do not frustrate the compassion of Elohim; for if tzedaka comes by means of the Torah, then Mashi’akh died in vain.
