1“And you, Ben Adam, prophesy unto the mountains of Yisra’el, and say, ‘You mountains of Yisra’el, hear the D’var יהוה . Thus2 says Adonai יהוה , Because the enemy has said against you, ‘Aha! Even the ancient high places are ours in possession’;’ 3therefore prophesy, and say, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘Because, even because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession unto the rest of the nations, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and the evil report of the people’. 4Therefore, you mountains of Yisra’el, hear the D’var Adonai יהוה . Thus says Adonai יהוה to the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which are become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are round about; 5therefore thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘Surely in the fire of My jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed My land unto themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with disdain of soul, to cast it out for a prey;’ 6therefore prophesy concerning the land of Yisra’el, and say unto the mountains and to the hills, to the streams and to the valleys, thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘Behold, I have spoken in My jealousy and in My fury, because you have borne the shame of the nations; 7therefore thus says Adonai יהוה , I have lifted up My hand. Surely the nations that are round about you, they shall bear their shame. 8But you, O mountains of Yisra’el, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to My people Yisra’el; for they are at hand to come. 9For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and you shall be tilled and sown; 10and I will multiply men upon you, all Beit Yisra’el, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built; 11and I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful; and I will cause you to be inhabited after your former estate, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings; and you shall know that I am יהוה . Yes12, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Yisra’el, and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance; and you shall no more henceforth bereave them of children. 13Thus says Adonai יהוה . Because they say unto you, ‘You, O land, are a devourer of men, and have been a bereaver of your nations’; 14therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nations any more, says Adonai יהוה ; neither15 will I suffer the shame of the nations any more to be heard against you, neither shall you bear the reproach of the peoples any more, neither shall you cause your nations to stumble any more, says Adonai יהוה ‘.'”
16Moreover, the D’var יהוה came unto me, saying, 17“Ben Adam, when Beit Yisra’el dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their way and by their doings; their way before Me was as the uncleanness of a woman in her impurity. 18Therefore, I poured out My fury upon them for the blood which they had shed upon the land, and because they had defiled it with their idols; 19and I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed through the countries; according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. 20And when they came unto the nations, wherever they came, they profaned My kadosh Name; in that men said of them, ‘These are the people of יהוה , and are gone forth out of His land’. 21But I had pity for My kadosh Name, which Beit Yisra’el had profaned among the nations, wherever they came.'”
22“Therefore say unto Beit Yisra’el, ‘Thus says Adonai יהוה , ‘I do not do this for your sake, O Beit Yisra’el, but for My kadosh Name, which you have profaned among the nations, wherever you came. 23And I will consecrate My Great Name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in the midst of them; and the nations shall know that I am יהוה , says Adonai יהוה , when I shall be consecrated in you before their eyes. 24For I will take you from among the nations, and gather you out of all the countries, and will bring you into your own land. 25And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean; from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. 26A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. 27And I will put My Ru’akh within you, and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you shall keep My ordinances, and do them. 28And you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and you shall be My people, and I will be your Elohim. 29And I will save you from all your uncleannesses; and I will call for the grain, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. 30And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that you may receive no more the reproach of famine among the nations. 31Then shall you remember your evil ways, and your doings that were not good; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. 32Not for your sake do I do this, says Adonai יהוה , be it known unto you; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O Beit Yisra’el, 33thus says Adonai יהוה . In the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built. 34And the land that was desolate shall be tilled, whereas it was a desolation in the sight of all that passed by. 35And they shall say, ‘This land that was desolate is become like Gan Eden’; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited. 36Then the nations that are left round about you shall know that I, יהוה , have built the ruined places, and planted that which was desolate; I, יהוה , have spoken it, and I will do it; 37thus says Adonai יהוה . I will yet for this be inquired of by Beit Yisra’el, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. 38As the flock for sacrifice, as the flock of Yerushalayim in her Mo’edim, so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am יהוה .'”
אוְאַתָּה בֶן אָדָם הִנָּבֵא אֶל הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְאָמַרְתָּ הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר יהוה . בכֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה יַעַן אָמַר הָאוֹיֵב עֲלֵיכֶם הֶאָח; וּבָמוֹת עוֹלָם לְמוֹרָשָׁה הָיְתָה לָּנוּ. גלָכֵן הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה : יַעַן בְּיַעַן שַׁמּוֹת וְשָׁאֹף אֶתְכֶם מִסָּבִיב לִהְיוֹתְכֶם מוֹרָשָׁה לִשְׁאֵרִית הַגּוֹיִם וַתֵּעֲלוּ עַל שְׂפַת לָשׁוֹן וְדִבַּת עָם. דלָכֵן הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה : כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה לֶהָרִים וְלַגְּבָעוֹת לָאֲפִיקִים וְלַגֵּאָיוֹת וְלֶחֳרָבוֹת הַשֹּׁמְמוֹת וְלֶעָרִים הַנֶּעֱזָבוֹת אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ לְבַז וּלְלַעַג לִשְׁאֵרִית הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר מִסָּבִיב. הלָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה אִם לֹא בְּאֵשׁ קִנְאָתִי דִבַּרְתִּי עַל שְׁאֵרִית הַגּוֹיִם וְעַל אֱדוֹם כֻּלָּא: אֲשֶׁר נָתְנוּ אֶת אַרְצִי לָהֶם לְמוֹרָשָׁה בְּשִׂמְחַת כָּל לֵבָב בִּשְׁאָט נֶפֶשׁ לְמַעַן מִגְרָשָׁהּ לָבַז. ולָכֵן הִנָּבֵא עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל; וְאָמַרְתָּ לֶהָרִים וְלַגְּבָעוֹת לָאֲפִיקִים וְלַגֵּאָיוֹת כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה הִנְנִי בְקִנְאָתִי וּבַחֲמָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי יַעַן כְּלִמַּת גּוֹיִם נְשָׂאתֶם. זלָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה אֲנִי נָשָׂאתִי אֶת יָדִי: אִם לֹא הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר לָכֶם מִסָּבִיב הֵמָּה כְּלִמָּתָם יִשָּׂאוּ. חוְאַתֶּם הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַנְפְּכֶם תִּתֵּנוּ וּפֶרְיְכֶם תִּשְׂאוּ לְעַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל: כִּי קֵרְבוּ לָבוֹא. טכִּי הִנְנִי אֲלֵיכֶם; וּפָנִיתִי אֲלֵיכֶם וְנֶעֱבַדְתֶּם וְנִזְרַעְתֶּם. יוְהִרְבֵּיתִי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל כֻּלֹּה; וְנֹשְׁבוּ הֶעָרִים וְהֶחֳרָבוֹת תִּבָּנֶינָה. יאוְהִרְבֵּיתִי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם וּבְהֵמָה וְרָבוּ וּפָרוּ; וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּי אֶתְכֶם כְּקַדְמוֹתֵיכֶם וְהֵיטִבֹתִי מֵרִאשֹׁתֵיכֶם וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי אֲנִי יהוה . יבוְהוֹלַכְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם אֶת עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִירֵשׁוּךָ וְהָיִיתָ לָהֶם לְנַחֲלָה; וְלֹא תוֹסִף עוֹד לְשַׁכְּלָם. יגכֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה יַעַן אֹמְרִים לָכֶם אֹכֶלֶת אָדָם אתי (אָתְּ); וּמְשַׁכֶּלֶת גויך (גּוֹיַיִךְ) הָיִית. ידלָכֵן אָדָם לֹא תֹאכְלִי עוֹד וגויך (וְגוֹיַיִךְ) לֹא תכשלי (תְשַׁכְּלִי) עוֹד נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה . טווְלֹא אַשְׁמִיעַ אֵלַיִךְ עוֹד כְּלִמַּת הַגּוֹיִם וְחֶרְפַּת עַמִּים לֹא תִשְׂאִי עוֹד; וגויך (וְגוֹיַיִךְ) לֹא תַכְשִׁלִי עוֹד נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה .
טזוַיְהִי דְבַר יהוה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר, יזבֶּן אָדָם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יֹשְׁבִים עַל אַדְמָתָם וַיְטַמְּאוּ אוֹתָהּ בְּדַרְכָּם וּבַעֲלִילוֹתָם: כְּטֻמְאַת הַנִּדָּה הָיְתָה דַרְכָּם לְפָנָי. יחוָאֶשְׁפֹּךְ חֲמָתִי עֲלֵיהֶם עַל הַדָּם אֲשֶׁר שָׁפְכוּ עַל הָאָרֶץ; וּבְגִלּוּלֵיהֶם טִמְּאוּהָ. יטוָאָפִיץ אֹתָם בַּגּוֹיִם וַיִּזָּרוּ בָּאֲרָצוֹת: כְּדַרְכָּם וְכַעֲלִילוֹתָם שְׁפַטְתִּים. כוַיָּבוֹא אֶל הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ שָׁם וַיְחַלְּלוּ אֶת שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי בֶּאֱמֹר לָהֶם עַם יהוה אֵלֶּה וּמֵאַרְצוֹ יָצָאוּ. כאוָאֶחְמֹל עַל שֵׁם קָדְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר חִלְּלֻהוּ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר בָּאוּ שָׁמָּה.
כבלָכֵן אֱמֹר לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה לֹא לְמַעַנְכֶם אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל: כִּי אִם לְשֵׁם קָדְשִׁי אֲשֶׁר חִלַּלְתֶּם בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר בָּאתֶם שָׁם. כגוְקִדַּשְׁתִּי אֶת שְׁמִי הַגָּדוֹל הַמְחֻלָּל בַּגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר חִלַּלְתֶּם בְּתוֹכָם; וְיָדְעוּ הַגּוֹיִם כִּי אֲנִי יהוה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה בְּהִקָּדְשִׁי בָכֶם לְעֵינֵיהֶם. כדוְלָקַחְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִן הַגּוֹיִם וְקִבַּצְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִכָּל הָאֲרָצוֹת; וְהֵבֵאתִי אֶתְכֶם אֶל אַדְמַתְכֶם. כהוְזָרַקְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם מַיִם טְהוֹרִים וּטְהַרְתֶּם: מִכֹּל טֻמְאוֹתֵיכֶם וּמִכָּל גִּלּוּלֵיכֶם אֲטַהֵר אֶתְכֶם. כווְנָתַתִּי לָכֶם לֵב חָדָשׁ וְרוּחַ חֲדָשָׁה אֶתֵּן בְּקִרְבְּכֶם; וַהֲסִרֹתִי אֶת לֵב הָאֶבֶן מִבְּשַׂרְכֶם וְנָתַתִּי לָכֶם לֵב בָּשָׂר. כזוְאֶת רוּחִי אֶתֵּן בְּקִרְבְּכֶם; וְעָשִׂיתִי אֵת אֲשֶׁר בְּחֻקַּי תֵּלֵכוּ וּמִשְׁפָּטַי תִּשְׁמְרוּ וַעֲשִׂיתֶם. כחוִישַׁבְתֶּם בָּאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נָתַתִּי לַאֲבֹתֵיכֶם; וִהְיִיתֶם לִי לְעָם וְאָנֹכִי אֶהְיֶה לָכֶם לֵאלֹהִים. כטוְהוֹשַׁעְתִּי אֶתְכֶם מִכֹּל טֻמְאוֹתֵיכֶם; וְקָרָאתִי אֶל הַדָּגָן וְהִרְבֵּיתִי אֹתוֹ וְלֹא אֶתֵּן עֲלֵיכֶם רָעָב. לוְהִרְבֵּיתִי אֶת פְּרִי הָעֵץ וּתְנוּבַת הַשָּׂדֶה: לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא תִקְחוּ עוֹד חֶרְפַּת רָעָב בַּגּוֹיִם. לאוּזְכַרְתֶּם אֶת דַּרְכֵיכֶם הָרָעִים וּמַעַלְלֵיכֶם אֲשֶׁר לֹא טוֹבִים ; וּנְקֹטֹתֶם בִּפְנֵיכֶם עַל עֲוֹנֹתֵיכֶם וְעַל תּוֹעֲבוֹתֵיכֶם. לבלֹא לְמַעַנְכֶם אֲנִי עֹשֶׂה נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יהוה יִוָּדַע לָכֶם: בּוֹשׁוּ וְהִכָּלְמוּ מִדַּרְכֵיכֶם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל. לגכֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה בְּיוֹם טַהֲרִי אֶתְכֶם מִכֹּל עֲוֹנוֹתֵיכֶם וְהוֹשַׁבְתִּי אֶת הֶעָרִים וְנִבְנוּ הֶחֳרָבוֹת. לדוְהָאָרֶץ הַנְּשַׁמָּה תֵּעָבֵד תַּחַת אֲשֶׁר הָיְתָה שְׁמָמָה לְעֵינֵי כָּל עוֹבֵר. להוְאָמְרוּ הָאָרֶץ הַלֵּזוּ הַנְּשַׁמָּה הָיְתָה כְּגַן עֵדֶן; וְהֶעָרִים הֶחֳרֵבוֹת וְהַנְשַׁמּוֹת וְהַנֶּהֱרָסוֹת בְּצוּרוֹת יָשָׁבוּ. לווְיָדְעוּ הַגּוֹיִם אֲשֶׁר יִשָּׁאֲרוּ סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם כִּי אֲנִי יהוה בָּנִיתִי הַנֶּהֱרָסוֹת נָטַעְתִּי הַנְּשַׁמָּה: אֲנִי יהוה דִּבַּרְתִּי וְעָשִׂיתִי. לזכֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יהוה עוֹד זֹאת אִדָּרֵשׁ לְבֵית יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲשׂוֹת לָהֶם: אַרְבֶּה אֹתָם כַּצֹּאן אָדָם. לחכְּצֹאן קָדָשִׁים כְּצֹאן יְרוּשָׁלִַם בְּמוֹעֲדֶיהָ כֵּן תִּהְיֶינָה הֶעָרִים הֶחֳרֵבוֹת מְלֵאוֹת צֹאן אָדָם; וְיָדְעוּ כִּי אֲנִי יהוה .
