1And Yehoshua rose up early in the morning, and they removed from Shittim and came to the Yarden, he and all B’nei Yisra’el; and they lodged there before they passed over. 2And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the midst of the camp; 3and they commanded the people, saying, “When you see the Aron HaBrit יהוה your Elohim, and the Kohanim, HaLevi’im bearing it, then you shall remove from your place and go after it. 4Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure; come not near unto it, that you may know the way by which you must go; for you have not passed this way before now.”
5And Yehoshua said unto the people, “Set yourselves apart; for tomorrow יהוה will do wonders among you.” 6And Yehoshua spoke unto the Kohanim, saying, “Take up the Aron HaBrit, and pass on before the people.” And they took up the Aron HaBrit, and went before the people. 7And יהוה said unto Yehoshua, “This day will I begin to magnify you in the sight of all Yisra’el, that they may know that as I was with Moshe, so I will be with you. 8And you shall command the Kohanim that bear the Aron HaBrit, saying, ‘When you are come to the brink of the waters of the Yarden, you shall stand still in the Yarden’.”
9And Yehoshua said unto B’nei Yisra’el, “Come here, and hear the words of יהוה your Elohim.” 10And Yehoshua said, “Hereby you shall know that the living Elohim is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Kena’ani, and the Khiti, and the Khivi, and the Peritzi, and the Girgashi, and the Amori, and the Yevusi. 11Behold, the Aron HaBrit of the Adon of All The Earth passes on before you over the Yarden. 12Now therefore take for yourself twelve men out of the tribes of Yisra’el, for every tribe a man. 13And it shall come to pass, when the soles of the feet of the Kohanim that bear the Aron of יהוה , the Adon of All The Earth, shall rest in the waters of the Yarden, that the waters of the Yarden shall be cut off, even the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand in one heap.” 14And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents to pass over the Yarden, the Kohanim that bore the Aron HaBrit being before the people; 15and when they that bore the Aron were come unto the Yarden, and the feet of the Kohanim that bore the Aron were dipped in the brink of the water, for the Yarden overflows all its banks all the time of harvest, 16that the waters which came down from above stood, and rose up in one heap, a great way off from Adam, the city that is beside Tzartan; and those that went down toward the sea of the Arabah, even the Salt Sea, were wholly cut off; and the people passed over right against Yerekho. 17And the Kohanim that bore the Aron HaBrit יהוה stood firm on dry ground in the midst of the Yarden, while all Yisra’el passed over on dry ground, until all the nation were passed clean over the Yarden.
אוַיַּשְׁכֵּם יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בַּבֹּקֶר וַיִּסְעוּ מֵהַשִּׁטִּים וַיָּבֹאוּ עַד הַיַּרְדֵּן הוּא וְכָל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל; וַיָּלִנוּ שָׁם טֶרֶם יַעֲבֹרוּ. בוַיְהִי מִקְצֵה שְׁלֹשֶׁת יָמִים; וַיַּעַבְרוּ הַשֹּׁטְרִים בְּקֶרֶב הַמַּחֲנֶה. גוַיְצַוּוּ אֶת הָעָם לֵאמֹר כִּרְאֹתְכֶם אֵת אֲרוֹן בְּרִית יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם וְהַכֹּהֲנִים הַלְוִיִּם נֹשְׂאִים אֹתוֹ וְאַתֶּם תִּסְעוּ מִמְּקוֹמְכֶם וַהֲלַכְתֶּם אַחֲרָיו. דאַךְ רָחוֹק יִהְיֶה בֵּינֵיכֶם וּבֵנָיו כְּאַלְפַּיִם אַמָּה בַּמִּדָּה: אַל תִּקְרְבוּ אֵלָיו לְמַעַן אֲשֶׁר תֵּדְעוּ אֶת הַדֶּרֶךְ אֲשֶׁר תֵּלְכוּ בָהּ כִּי לֹא עֲבַרְתֶּם בַּדֶּרֶךְ מִתְּמוֹל שִׁלְשׁוֹם.
הוַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל הָעָם הִתְקַדָּשׁוּ: כִּי מָחָר יַעֲשֶׂה יהוה בְּקִרְבְּכֶם נִפְלָאוֹת. ווַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל הַכֹּהֲנִים לֵאמֹר שְׂאוּ אֶת אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וְעִבְרוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָם; וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית וַיֵּלְכוּ לִפְנֵי הָעָם. זוַיֹּאמֶר יהוה אֶל יְהוֹשֻׁעַ הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה אָחֵל גַּדֶּלְךָ בְּעֵינֵי כָּל יִשְׂרָאֵל: אֲשֶׁר יֵדְעוּן כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר הָיִיתִי עִם מֹשֶׁה אֶהְיֶה עִמָּךְ. חוְאַתָּה תְּצַוֶּה אֶת הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית לֵאמֹר: כְּבֹאֲכֶם עַד קְצֵה מֵי הַיַּרְדֵּן בַּיַּרְדֵּן תַּעֲמֹדוּ.
טוַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל: גֹּשׁוּ הֵנָּה וְשִׁמְעוּ אֶת דִּבְרֵי יהוה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם. יוַיֹּאמֶר יְהוֹשֻׁעַ בְּזֹאת תֵּדְעוּן כִּי אֵל חַי בְּקִרְבְּכֶם; וְהוֹרֵשׁ יוֹרִישׁ מִפְּנֵיכֶם אֶת הַכְּנַעֲנִי וְאֶת הַחִתִּי וְאֶת הַחִוִּי וְאֶת הַפְּרִזִּי וְאֶת הַגִּרְגָּשִׁי וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַיְבוּסִי. יאהִנֵּה אֲרוֹן הַבְּרִית אֲדוֹן כָּל הָאָרֶץ עֹבֵר לִפְנֵיכֶם בַּיַּרְדֵּן. יבוְעַתָּה קְחוּ לָכֶם שְׁנֵי עָשָׂר אִישׁ מִשִּׁבְטֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אִישׁ אֶחָד אִישׁ אֶחָד לַשָּׁבֶט. יגוְהָיָה כְּנוֹחַ כַּפּוֹת רַגְלֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי אֲרוֹן יהוה אֲדוֹן כָּל הָאָרֶץ בְּמֵי הַיַּרְדֵּן מֵי הַיַּרְדֵּן יִכָּרֵתוּן הַמַּיִם הַיֹּרְדִים מִלְמָעְלָה; וְיַעַמְדוּ נֵד אֶחָד. ידוַיְהִי בִּנְסֹעַ הָעָם מֵאָהֳלֵיהֶם לַעֲבֹר אֶת הַיַּרְדֵּן; וְהַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן הַבְּרִית לִפְנֵי הָעָם. טווּכְבוֹא נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן עַד הַיַּרְדֵּן וְרַגְלֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן נִטְבְּלוּ בִּקְצֵה הַמָּיִם; וְהַיַּרְדֵּן מָלֵא עַל כָּל גְּדוֹתָיו כֹּל יְמֵי קָצִיר. טזוַיַּעַמְדוּ הַמַּיִם הַיֹּרְדִים מִלְמַעְלָה קָמוּ נֵד אֶחָד הַרְחֵק מְאֹד באדם (מֵאָדָם) הָעִיר אֲשֶׁר מִצַּד צָרְתָן וְהַיֹּרְדִים עַל יָם הָעֲרָבָה יָם הַמֶּלַח תַּמּוּ נִכְרָתוּ; וְהָעָם עָבְרוּ נֶגֶד יְרִיחוֹ. יזוַיַּעַמְדוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים נֹשְׂאֵי הָאָרוֹן בְּרִית יהוה בֶּחָרָבָה בְּתוֹךְ הַיַּרְדֵּן הָכֵן; וְכָל יִשְׂרָאֵל עֹבְרִים בֶּחָרָבָה עַד אֲשֶׁר תַּמּוּ כָּל הַגּוֹי לַעֲבֹר אֶת הַיַּרְדֵּן.
