1And the lot for the tribe of the children of Yehudah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Tzin southward, at the uttermost part of the south. 2And their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looked southward. 3And it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabim, and passed along to Tzin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barne’ah, and passed along by Khetzron, and went up to Adar, and turned about to Karka. 4And it passed along to Atzmonah, and went out at the Brook of Mitzrayim; and the goings out of the border were at the sea; this shall be your south border. 5And the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Yarden. And the border of the north side was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Yarden. 6And the border went up to Beit Khaglah, and passed along by the north of Beit Arabah; and the border went up to the Stone of Bohan Ben Re’uven. 7And the border went up to Devir from the valley of Akhor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adumim, which is on the south side of the brook; and the border passed along to the waters of Ein Shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at Ein Rogel. 8And the border went up by the Valley of the son of Khinom unto the side of the Yevusi southward, the same is Yerushalayim, and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Khinom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Refayim northward. 9And the border was drawn from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nefto’akh, and went out to the cities of mount Efron; and the border was drawn to Ba’alah, the same is Kiriyat Ye’arim. 10And the border turned about from Ba’alah westward unto mount Se’ir, and passed along unto the side of mount Ye’arim on the north, the same is Khesalon, and went down to Beit Shemesh, and passed along by Timnatah. 11And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border was drawn to Shikeron, and passed along to mount Ba’alah, and went out at Yavnil; and the goings out of the border were at the sea. 12And as for the west border, the Great Sea was the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Yehudah round about according to their families.
13And unto Kalev Ben Yefuneh he gave a portion among the children of Yehudah, according to the commandment of יהוה to Yehoshua, even Kiriyat Arba, which Arba was the father of Anak, the same is Khevron. 14And Kalev drove out there the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Akhiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak. 15And he went up there against the inhabitants of Devir, now the name of Devir beforetime was Kiriyat Sefer. 16And Kalev said, “He that smites Kiriyat Sefer, and takes it, to him will I give Akhsah my daughter as a wife.” 17And Otniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Kalev, took it; and he gave him Akhsah his daughter as a wife. 18And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field; and she alighted from off her donkey; and Kalev said unto her, “What do you want?” 19And she said, “Give me a blessing; for that you have set me in the Southland, give me therefore springs of water.” And he gave her the Upper Springs and the Nether Springs.
20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Yehudah according to their families. 21And the cities at the uttermost part of the tribe of the children of Yehudah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Yagur; 22and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah; 23and Kedesh, and Khatzor, and Itnan; 24Zif, and Telem, and Bealot; 25and Katzor, and Khadatah, and Kerioth, and Khatzron, the same is Khatzor; 26Amam, and Shema, and Moladah; 27and Kazar Gadah, and Kheshmon, and Beit Pelet; 28and Khatzar Shual, and Be’er Sheva, and Biziotyah; 29Ba’alah, and Iyim, and Ezem; 30and Eltolad, and Khesil, and Khormah; 31and Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansanah; 32and Leva’ot, and Shilkhim, and Ayin, and Rimon; all the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.
33In the Lowland: Eshta’ol, and Tzorah, and Ashnah; 34and ZaNo’akh, and Ein Gannim, Tapuakh, and Enam; 35Yarmut, and Adullam, Sokhoh, and Azekah; 36and Sha’araim, and Aditayim, and Gederah, with Gederotayim; fourteen cities with their villages. 37Zenan, and Khadashah, and Migdal Gad; 38and Dilan, and Mizpeh, and Yoktel; 39Lakhish, and Bozkat, and Eglon; 40and Kabon, and Lakhmas, and Kitlish; 41and Gederot, Beit Dagon, and Na’amah, and Makedah; sixteen cities with their villages. 42Livnah, and Eter, and Ashan; 43and Iftah, and Ashnah, and Neziv; 44and Keilah, and Akhzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages. 45Ekron, with its towns and its villages; 46from Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages. 47Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Azatah, its towns and its villages; unto the Brook of Mitzrayim, the Great Sea being the border thereof. 48And in the hill country: Shamir, and Yatir, and Sokhoh; 49and Dannah, and Kiriyat Sanah, the same is Devir; 50and Anav, and Eshtemoh, and Anim; 51and Goshen, and Kholon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages. 52Arav, and Rumah, and Eshan; 53and Yanum, and Beit Tapu’akh, and Afekah; 54and Khumtah, and Kiriyat Arba, the same is Khevron, and Tzior; nine cities with their villages. 55Ma’on, Karmel, and Zif, and Yutah; 56and Yizre’el, and Yokde’am, and Zano’akh; 57Kayin, Givah, and Timnatah; ten cities with their villages. 58Kalkhul, Beit Tzur, and Gedor; 59and Ma’arat, and Beit Anot, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.
60Kiriyat Ba’al, the same is Kiriyat Ye’arim, and HaRabah; two cities with their villages. 61In the wilderness: Beit Arabah, Midin, and Sekhakhah; 62and Nivshan, and the City of Salt, and Ein Gedi; six cities with their villages. 63And as for the Yevusi, the inhabitants of Yerushalayim, the children of Yehudah could not drive them out; but the Yevusi dwelt with the children of Yehudah at Yerushalayim, unto this day.
אוַיְהִי הַגּוֹרָל לְמַטֵּה בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם: אֶל גְּבוּל אֱדוֹם מִדְבַּר צִן נֶגְבָּה מִקְצֵה תֵימָן. בוַיְהִי לָהֶם גְּבוּל נֶגֶב מִקְצֵה יָם הַמֶּלַח מִן הַלָּשֹׁן הַפֹּנֶה נֶגְבָּה. גוְיָצָא אֶל מִנֶּגֶב לְמַעֲלֵה עַקְרַבִּים וְעָבַר צִנָה וְעָלָה מִנֶּגֶב לְקָדֵשׁ בַּרְנֵעַ; וְעָבַר חֶצְרוֹן וְעָלָה אַדָּרָה וְנָסַב הַקַּרְקָעָה. דוְעָבַר עַצְמוֹנָה וְיָצָא נַחַל מִצְרַיִם והיה (וְהָיוּ) תֹּצְאוֹת הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה; זֶה יִהְיֶה לָכֶם גְּבוּל נֶגֶב. הוּגְבוּל קֵדְמָה יָם הַמֶּלַח עַד קְצֵה הַיַּרְדֵּן ; וּגְבוּל לִפְאַת צָפוֹנָה מִלְּשׁוֹןהַיָּם מִקְצֵה הַיַּרְדֵּן. ווְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל בֵּית חָגְלָה וְעָבַר מִצְּפוֹן לְבֵית הָעֲרָבָה; וְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל אֶבֶן בֹּהַן בֶּן רְאוּבֵן. זוְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל דְּבִרָה מֵעֵמֶק עָכוֹר וְצָפוֹנָה פֹּנֶה אֶל הַגִּלְגָּל אֲשֶׁר נֹכַח לְמַעֲלֵה אֲדֻמִּים אֲשֶׁר מִנֶּגֶב לַנָּחַל; וְעָבַר הַגְּבוּל אֶל מֵי עֵין שֶׁמֶשׁ וְהָיוּ תֹצְאֹתָיו אֶל עֵין רֹגֵל. חוְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל גֵּי בֶן הִנֹּם אֶל כֶּתֶף הַיְבוּסִי מִנֶּגֶב הִיא יְרוּשָׁלִָם; וְעָלָה הַגְּבוּל אֶל רֹאשׁ הָהָר אֲשֶׁר עַל פְּנֵי גֵי הִנֹּם יָמָּה אֲשֶׁר בִּקְצֵה עֵמֶק רְפָאִים צָפוֹנָה. טוְתָאַר הַגְּבוּל מֵרֹאשׁ הָהָר אֶל מַעְיַן מֵי נֶפְתּוֹחַ וְיָצָא אֶל עָרֵי הַר עֶפְרוֹן; וְתָאַר הַגְּבוּל בַּעֲלָה הִיא קִרְיַת יְעָרִים. יוְנָסַב הַגְּבוּל מִבַּעֲלָה יָמָּה אֶל הַר שֵׂעִיר וְעָבַר אֶל כֶּתֶף הַר יְעָרִים מִצָּפוֹנָה הִיא כְסָלוֹן; וְיָרַד בֵּית שֶׁמֶשׁ וְעָבַר תִּמְנָה. יאוְיָצָא הַגְּבוּל אֶל כֶּתֶף עֶקְרוֹן צָפוֹנָה וְתָאַר הַגְּבוּל שִׁכְּרוֹנָה וְעָבַר הַר הַבַּעֲלָה וְיָצָא יַבְנְאֵל; וְהָיוּ תֹּצְאוֹת הַגְּבוּל יָמָּה. יבוּגְבוּל יָם הַיָּמָּה הַגָּדוֹל וּגְבוּל; זֶה גְּבוּל בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה סָבִיב לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם.
יגוּלְכָלֵב בֶּן יְפֻנֶּה נָתַן חֵלֶק בְּתוֹךְ בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה אֶל פִּי יהוה לִיהוֹשֻׁעַ אֶת קִרְיַת אַרְבַּע אֲבִי הָעֲנָק הִיא חֶבְרוֹן. ידוַיֹּרֶשׁ מִשָּׁם כָּלֵב אֶת שְׁלוֹשָׁה בְּנֵי הָעֲנָק אֶת שֵׁשַׁי וְאֶת אֲחִימַן וְאֶת תַּלְמַי יְלִידֵי הָעֲנָק. טווַיַּעַל מִשָּׁם אֶל יֹשְׁבֵי דְּבִר; וְשֵׁם דְּבִר לְפָנִים קִרְיַת סֵפֶר. טזוַיֹּאמֶר כָּלֵב אֲשֶׁר יַכֶּה אֶת קִרְיַת סֵפֶר וּלְכָדָהּ וְנָתַתִּי לוֹ אֶת עַכְסָה בִתִּי לְאִשָּׁה. יזוַיִּלְכְּדָהּ עָתְנִיאֵל בֶּן קְנַז אֲחִי כָלֵב; וַיִּתֶּן לוֹ אֶת עַכְסָה בִתּוֹ לְאִשָּׁה. יחוַיְהִי בְּבוֹאָהּ וַתְּסִיתֵהוּ לִשְׁאוֹל מֵאֵת אָבִיהָ שָׂדֶה וַתִּצְנַח מֵעַל הַחֲמוֹר; וַיֹּאמֶר לָהּ כָּלֵב מַה לָּךְ. יטוַתֹּאמֶר תְּנָה לִּי בְרָכָה כִּי אֶרֶץ הַנֶּגֶב נְתַתָּנִי וְנָתַתָּה לִי גֻּלֹּת מָיִם; וַיִּתֶּן לָהּ אֵת גֻּלֹּת עִלִּיּוֹת וְאֵת גֻּלֹּת תַּחְתִּיּוֹת.
כזֹאת נַחֲלַת מַטֵּה בְנֵי יְהוּדָה לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם. כאוַיִּהְיוּ הֶעָרִים מִקְצֵה לְמַטֵּה בְנֵי יְהוּדָה אֶל גְּבוּל אֱדוֹם בַּנֶּגְבָּה קַבְצְאֵל וְעֵדֶר וְיָגוּר. כבוְקִינָה וְדִימוֹנָה וְעַדְעָדָה. כגוְקֶדֶשׁ וְחָצוֹר וְיִתְנָן. כדזִיף וָטֶלֶם וּבְעָלוֹת. כהוְחָצוֹר חֲדַתָּה וּקְרִיּוֹת חֶצְרוֹן הִיא חָצוֹר. כואֲמָם וּשְׁמַע וּמוֹלָדָה. כזוַחֲצַר גַּדָּה וְחֶשְׁמוֹן וּבֵית פָּלֶט. כחוַחֲצַר שׁוּעָל וּבְאֵר שֶׁבַע וּבִזְיוֹתְיָה. כטבַּעֲלָה וְעִיִּים וָעָצֶם. לוְאֶלְתּוֹלַד וּכְסִיל וְחָרְמָה. לאוְצִקְלַג וּמַדְמַנָּה וְסַנְסַנָּה. לבוּלְבָאוֹת וְשִׁלְחִים וְעַיִן וְרִמּוֹן: כָּל עָרִים עֶשְׂרִים וָתֵשַׁע וְחַצְרֵיהֶן.
לגבַּשְּׁפֵלָה אֶשְׁתָּאוֹל וְצָרְעָה וְאַשְׁנָה. לדוְזָנוֹחַ וְעֵין גַּנִּים תַּפּוּחַ וְהָעֵינָם. להיַרְמוּת וַעֲדֻלָּם שׂוֹכֹה וַעֲזֵקָה. לווְשַׁעֲרַיִם וַעֲדִיתַיִם וְהַגְּדֵרָה וּגְדֵרֹתָיִם: עָרִים אַרְבַּע עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. לזצְנָן וַחֲדָשָׁה וּמִגְדַּל גָּד. לחוְדִלְעָן וְהַמִּצְפֶּה וְיָקְתְאֵל. לטלָכִישׁ וּבָצְקַת וְעֶגְלוֹן. מוְכַבּוֹן וְלַחְמָס וְכִתְלִישׁ. מאוּגְדֵרוֹת בֵּית דָּגוֹן וְנַעֲמָה וּמַקֵּדָה: עָרִים שֵׁשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. מבלִבְנָה וָעֶתֶר וְעָשָׁן. מגוְיִפְתָּח וְאַשְׁנָה וּנְצִיב. מדוּקְעִילָה וְאַכְזִיב וּמָרֵאשָׁה: עָרִים תֵּשַׁע וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. מהעֶקְרוֹן וּבְנֹתֶיהָ וַחֲצֵרֶיהָ. מומֵעֶקְרוֹן וָיָמָּה: כֹּל אֲשֶׁר עַל יַד אַשְׁדּוֹד וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. מזאַשְׁדּוֹד בְּנוֹתֶיהָ וַחֲצֵרֶיהָ עַזָּה בְּנוֹתֶיהָ וַחֲצֵרֶיהָ עַד נַחַל מִצְרָיִם; וְהַיָּם הגבול (הַגָּדוֹל) וּגְבוּל. מחוּבָהָר שָׁמִיר וְיַתִּיר וְשׂוֹכֹה. מטוְדַנָּה וְקִרְיַת סַנָּה הִיא דְבִר. נוַעֲנָב וְאֶשְׁתְּמֹה וְעָנִים. נאוְגֹשֶׁן וְחֹלֹן וְגִלֹה: עָרִים אַחַת עֶשְׂרֵה וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. נבאֲרַב וְרוּמָה וְאֶשְׁעָן. נגוינים (וְיָנוּם) וּבֵית תַּפּוּחַ וַאֲפֵקָה. נדוְחֻמְטָה וְקִרְיַת אַרְבַּע הִיא חֶבְרוֹן וְצִיעֹר: עָרִים תֵּשַׁע וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. נהמָעוֹן כַּרְמֶל וָזִיף וְיוּטָּה. נווְיִזְרְעֶאל וְיָקְדְעָם וְזָנוֹחַ. נזהַקַּיִן גִּבְעָה וְתִמְנָה : עָרִים עֶשֶׂר וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. נחחַלְחוּל בֵּית צוּר וּגְדוֹר. נטוּמַעֲרָת וּבֵית עֲנוֹת וְאֶלְתְּקֹן: עָרִים שֵׁשׁ וְחַצְרֵיהֶן.
סקִרְיַת בַּעַל הִיא קִרְיַת יְעָרִים וְהָרַבָּה: עָרִים שְׁתַּיִם וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. סאבַּמִּדְבָּר בֵּית הָעֲרָבָה מִדִּין וּסְכָכָה. סבוְהַנִּבְשָׁן וְעִיר הַמֶּלַח וְעֵין גֶּדִי: עָרִים שֵׁשׁ וְחַצְרֵיהֶן. סגוְאֶת הַיְבוּסִי יוֹשְׁבֵי יְרוּשָׁלִַם לֹא יוכלו (יָכְלוּ) בְנֵי יְהוּדָה לְהוֹרִישָׁם; וַיֵּשֶׁב הַיְבוּסִי אֶת בְּנֵי יְהוּדָה בִּירוּשָׁלִַם עַד הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה.
