1Now these are the Kohanim and the Levi’im that went up with Zerubavel Ben She’alti-El, and Yeshua: Serayah, Yirme-Yahu, Ezrah; 2Amar-Yah, Malukh, Khatush; 3Shekhan-Yah, Rekhum, Meremot; 4Ido, Ginetoi, Avi-Yah; 5Miyamin, Ma’ad-Yah, Bilgah; 6Shema-Yah, and Yoyariv, Yeda-Yah; 7Salu, Amok, Khilki-Yah, Yeda-Yah. These were the chiefs of the Kohanim and their brethren in the days of Yeshua.
8Moreover the Levi’im: Yeshua, Binui, Kadmi’el, Sherev-Yah, Yehudah, and Matan-Yah, who was over the thanksgiving, he and his brethren. 9Also Bakbuk-Yah and Uni, their brethren, were over against them in wards. 10And Yeshua begot Yoyakim, and Yoyakim begot Elyashiv, and Elyashiv begot Yoyada, 11and Yoyada begot Yonatan and Yonatan begot Yadu’ah. 12And in the days of Yoyakim were Kohanim, heads of the fathers’ houses: of Serayah, Mera-Yah; of Yirme-Yahu, Khanan-Yah; 13of Ezrah, Meshulam; of Amar-Yah, Yehokhanan; 14of Melikhu, Yonatan; of Shevan-Yah, Yosef; 15of Kharim, Adna; of Merayot, Khelkai; 16of Ido, Zekhar-Yah; of Gineton, Meshulam; 17of Avi-Yah, Zikhri; of Minyamin; of Mo’ad-Yah, Piltai; 18of Bilgah, Shamu’ah; of Shema-Yah, Yehonatan; 19and of Yoyariv, Mat’nai; of Yeda-Yah, Uzi; 20of Salai, Kalai; of Amok, Evr; 21of Khilki-Yah, Khashav-Yah; of Yeda-Yah, Netanel. 22The Levi’im in the days of Elyashiv, Yoyada, and Yokhanan, and Yadu’ah, were recorded heads of the fathers’ houses; also the Kohanim, in the reign of Daryavesh HaParsi.
23The B’nei Levi, heads of the fathers’ houses, were written in the book of the chronicles, even until the days of Yokhanan Ben Elyashiv. 24And the chiefs of the Levi’im: Khashav-Yah, Sherev-Yah, and Yeshua Ben Kadmi’el, with their brethren over against them, to praise and give thanks, according to the Mitzvah of David the man of Elohim, ward against ward. 25Matan-Yah, and Bakbuk-Yah, Ovad-Yah, Meshulam, Talmon, Akuv, were porters keeping the ward at the store-houses of the gates. 26These were in the days of Yoyakim Ben Yeshua, Ben Yotzadak, and in the days of Nekhem-Yah the governor, and of Ezrah the Kohen, the Sofer.
27And at the dedication of the wall of Yerushalayim they sought the Levi’im out of all their places, to bring them to Yerushalayim, to keep the dedication with gladness, both with thanksgivings, and with singing, with cymbals, nevalim, and with kinorot. 28And the sons of the singers gathered themselves together, both out of the plain round about Yerushalayim, and from the villages of the Netofati; 29also from Beit Gilgal, and out of the fields of Gavah and Azmavet; for the singers had built them villages round about Yerushalayim. 30And the Kohanim and the Levi’im purified themselves; and they purified the people, and the gates, and the wall. 31Then I brought up the princes of Yehudah upon the wall, and appointed two great companies that gave thanks and went in procession: on the right hand upon the wall toward the dung gate; 32and after them went Hosha-Yah, and half of the princes of Yehudah; 33and Azar-Yah, Ezrah, and Meshulam, 34Yehudah, and Binyamin, and Shema-Yah, and Yirme-Yahu; 35and certain of the Kohanim’s sons with trumpets: Zekhar-Yah Ben Yonatan, Ben Shema-Yah, Ben Matan-Yah, Ben Mikhah-Yah, Ben Zakur, Ben Asaf; 36and his brethren, Shema-Yah, and Azarel, Milalai, Gilalai, Ma’ai, Netanel, and Yehudah, Khanani, with the musical instruments of David the man of Elohim; and Ezrah the Sofer was before them; 37and by the fountain gate, and straight before them, they went up by the stairs of the city of David, at the going up of the wall, above Beit David, even unto the water gate eastward. 38And the other company of them that gave thanks went to meet them, and I after them, with the half of the people, upon the wall, above the tower of the furnaces, even unto the broad wall; 39and above the gate of Efrayim, and by the gate of the old city and by the fish gate, and the tower of Khananel, and the tower of Hame’ah, even unto the sheep gate; and they stood still in the gate of the guard. 40So stood the two companies of them that gave thanks in Beit HaElohim, and I, and the half of the rulers with me; 41and the Kohanim, Eli Akim, Ma’asei-Yah, Minyamin, Mikhah-Yah, Elyo’einai, Zekhar-Yah, and Khanan-Yah, with trumpets; 42and Ma’asei-Yah, and Shema-Yah, and El-Azar, and Uzi, and Yehokhanan, and Malkhi-Yah, and Elam, and Ezer. And the singers sang loud, with Yizrakh-Yah their overseer. 43And they offered great sacrifices that day, and rejoiced; for Elohim had made them rejoice with great joy; and the women also and the children rejoiced; so that the joy of Yerushalayim was heard even afar off. 44And on that day were men appointed over the chambers for the treasures, for the Terumah offerings, for the Bikkurim, and for the tenth-parts, to gather into them, according to the fields of the cities, the portions appointed by the Torah for the Kohanim and Levi’im; for Yehudah rejoiced for the Kohanim and for the Levi’im that took their stations. 45And they kept the ward of their Elohim, and the ward of the purification, and so did the singers and the porters, according to the Mitzvah of David, and of Shlomo his son. 46For in the days of David and Asaf of old there were chief of the singers, and songs of praise and thanksgiving unto Elohim. 47And all Yisra’el in the days of Zerubavel, and in the days of Nekhem-Yah, gave the portions of the singers and the porters, as every day required; and they hallowed for the Levi’im; and the Levi’im hallowed for the sons of Aharon.
אוְאֵלֶּה הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם אֲשֶׁר עָלוּ עִם זְרֻבָּבֶל בֶּן שְׁאַלְתִּיאֵל וְיֵשׁוּעַ: שְׂרָיָה יִרְמְיָה עֶזְרָא. באֲמַרְיָה מַלּוּךְ חַטּוּשׁ. גשְׁכַנְיָה רְחֻם מְרֵמֹת. דעִדּוֹא גִנְּתוֹי אֲבִיָּה. המִיָּמִין מַעַדְיָה בִּלְגָּה. ושְׁמַעְיָה וְיוֹיָרִיב יְדַעְיָה. זסַלּוּ עָמוֹק חִלְקִיָּה יְדַעְיָה; אֵלֶּה רָאשֵׁי הַכֹּהֲנִים וַאֲחֵיהֶם בִּימֵי יֵשׁוּעַ.
חוְהַלְוִיִּם יֵשׁוּעַ בִּנּוּי קַדְמִיאֵל שֵׁרֵבְיָה יְהוּדָה מַתַּנְיָה: עַל הֻיְּדוֹת הוּא וְאֶחָיו. טוּבַקְבֻּקְיָה וענו (וְעֻנִּי) אֲחֵיהֶם לְנֶגְדָּם לְמִשְׁמָרוֹת. יוְיֵשׁוּעַ הוֹלִיד אֶת יוֹיָקִים; וְיוֹיָקִים הוֹלִיד אֶת אֶלְיָשִׁיב וְאֶלְיָשִׁיב אֶת יוֹיָדָע. יאוְיוֹיָדָע הוֹלִיד אֶת יוֹנָתָן וְיוֹנָתָן הוֹלִיד אֶת יַדּוּעַ. יבוּבִימֵי יוֹיָקִים הָיוּ כֹהֲנִים רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת: לִשְׂרָיָה מְרָיָה לְיִרְמְיָה חֲנַנְיָה. יגלְעֶזְרָא מְשֻׁלָּם לַאֲמַרְיָה יְהוֹחָנָן. ידלמלוכי (לִמְלִיכוּ) יוֹנָתָן לִשְׁבַנְיָה יוֹסֵף. טולְחָרִם עַדְנָא לִמְרָיוֹת חֶלְקָי. טזלעדיא (לְעִדּוֹא) זְכַרְיָה לְגִנְּתוֹן מְשֻׁלָּם. יזלַאֲבִיָּה זִכְרִי; לְמִנְיָמִין לְמוֹעַדְיָה פִּלְטָי. יחלְבִלְגָּה שַׁמּוּעַ לִשְׁמַעְיָה יְהוֹנָתָן. יטוּלְיוֹיָרִיב מַתְּנַי לִידַעְיָה עֻזִּי. כלְסַלַּי קַלָּי לְעָמוֹק עֵבֶר. כאלְחִלְקִיָּה חֲשַׁבְיָה לִידַעְיָה נְתַנְאֵל. כבהַלְוִיִּם בִּימֵי אֶלְיָשִׁיב יוֹיָדָע וְיוֹחָנָן וְיַדּוּעַ כְּתוּבִים רָאשֵׁי אָבוֹת; וְהַכֹּהֲנִים עַל מַלְכוּת דָּרְיָוֶשׁ הַפָּרְסִי.
כגבְּנֵי לֵוִי רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת כְּתוּבִים עַל סֵפֶר דִּבְרֵי הַיָּמִים וְעַד יְמֵי יוֹחָנָן בֶּן אֶלְיָשִׁיב. כדוְרָאשֵׁי הַלְוִיִּם חֲשַׁבְיָה שֵׁרֵבְיָה וְיֵשׁוּעַ בֶּן קַדְמִיאֵל וַאֲחֵיהֶם לְנֶגְדָּם לְהַלֵּל לְהוֹדוֹת בְּמִצְוַת דָּוִיד אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים מִשְׁמָר לְעֻמַּת מִשְׁמָר. כהמַתַּנְיָה וּבַקְבֻּקְיָה עֹבַדְיָה מְשֻׁלָּם טַלְמוֹן עַקּוּב שֹׁמְרִים שׁוֹעֲרִים מִשְׁמָר בַּאֲסֻפֵּי הַשְּׁעָרִים. כואֵלֶּה בִּימֵי יוֹיָקִים בֶּן יֵשׁוּעַ בֶּן יוֹצָדָק וּבִימֵי נְחֶמְיָה הַפֶּחָה וְעֶזְרָא הַכֹּהֵן הַסּוֹפֵר.
כזוּבַחֲנֻכַּת חוֹמַת יְרוּשָׁלִַם בִּקְשׁוּ אֶת הַלְוִיִּם מִכָּל מְקוֹמֹתָם לַהֲבִיאָם לִירוּשָׁלִָם לַעֲשֹׂת חֲנֻכָּה וְשִׂמְחָה וּבְתוֹדוֹת וּבְשִׁיר מְצִלְתַּיִם נְבָלִים וּבְכִנֹּרוֹת. כחוַיֵּאָסְפוּ בְּנֵי הַמְשֹׁרְרִים וּמִן הַכִּכָּר סְבִיבוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִַם וּמִן חַצְרֵי נְטֹפָתִי. כטוּמִבֵּית הַגִּלְגָּל וּמִשְּׂדוֹת גֶּבַע וְעַזְמָוֶת: כִּי חֲצֵרִים בָּנוּ לָהֶם הַמְשֹׁרְרִים סְבִיבוֹת יְרוּשָׁלִָם. לוַיִּטַּהֲרוּ הַכֹּהֲנִים וְהַלְוִיִּם; וַיְטַהֲרוּ אֶת הָעָם וְאֶת הַשְּׁעָרִים וְאֶת הַחוֹמָה. לאוָאַעֲלֶה אֶת שָׂרֵי יְהוּדָה מֵעַל לַחוֹמָה; וָאַעֲמִידָה שְׁתֵּי תוֹדֹת גְּדוֹלֹת וְתַהֲלֻכֹת לַיָּמִין מֵעַל לַחוֹמָה לְשַׁעַר הָאַשְׁפֹּת. לבוַיֵּלֶךְ אַחֲרֵיהֶם הוֹשַׁעְיָה וַחֲצִי שָׂרֵי יְהוּדָה. לגוַעֲזַרְיָה עֶזְרָא וּמְשֻׁלָּם. לדיְהוּדָה וּבִנְיָמִן וּשְׁמַעְיָה וְיִרְמְיָה. להוּמִבְּנֵי הַכֹּהֲנִים בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת זְכַרְיָה בֶן יוֹנָתָן בֶּן שְׁמַעְיָה בֶּן מַתַּנְיָה בֶּן מִיכָיָה בֶּן זַכּוּר בֶּן אָסָף. לווְאֶחָיו שְׁמַעְיָה וַעֲזַרְאֵל מִלְלַי גִּלְלַי מָעַי נְתַנְאֵל וִיהוּדָה חֲנָנִי בִּכְלֵי שִׁיר דָּוִיד אִישׁ הָאֱלֹהִים; וְעֶזְרָא הַסּוֹפֵר לִפְנֵיהֶם. לזוְעַל שַׁעַר הָעַיִן וְנֶגְדָּם עָלוּ עַל מַעֲלוֹת עִיר דָּוִיד בַּמַּעֲלֶה לַחוֹמָה: מֵעַל לְבֵית דָּוִיד וְעַד שַׁעַר הַמַּיִם מִזְרָח. לחוְהַתּוֹדָה הַשֵּׁנִית הַהוֹלֶכֶת לְמוֹאל וַאֲנִי אַחֲרֶיהָ; וַחֲצִי הָעָם מֵעַל לְהַחוֹמָה מֵעַל לְמִגְדַּל הַתַּנּוּרִים וְעַד הַחוֹמָה הָרְחָבָה. לטוּמֵעַל לְשַׁעַר אֶפְרַיִם וְעַל שַׁעַר הַיְשָׁנָה וְעַל שַׁעַר הַדָּגִים וּמִגְדַּל חֲנַנְאֵל וּמִגְדַּל הַמֵּאָה וְעַד שַׁעַר הַצֹּאן; וְעָמְדוּ בְּשַׁעַר הַמַּטָּרָה. מוַתַּעֲמֹדְנָה שְׁתֵּי הַתּוֹדֹת בְּבֵית הָאֱלֹהִים; וַאֲנִי וַחֲצִי הַסְּגָנִים עִמִּי. מאוְהַכֹּהֲנִים אֶלְיָקִים מַעֲשֵׂיָה מִנְיָמִין מִיכָיָה אֶלְיוֹעֵינַי זְכַרְיָה חֲנַנְיָה בַּחֲצֹצְרוֹת. מבוּמַעֲשֵׂיָה וּשְׁמַעְיָה וְאֶלְעָזָר וְעֻזִּי וִיהוֹחָנָן וּמַלְכִּיָּה וְעֵילָם וָעָזֶר; וַיַּשְׁמִיעוּ הַמְשֹׁרְרִים וְיִזְרַחְיָה הַפָּקִיד. מגוַיִּזְבְּחוּ בַיּוֹם הַהוּא זְבָחִים גְּדוֹלִים וַיִּשְׂמָחוּ כִּי הָאֱלֹהִים שִׂמְּחָם שִׂמְחָה גְדוֹלָה וְגַם הַנָּשִׁים וְהַיְלָדִים שָׂמֵחוּ; וַתִּשָּׁמַע שִׂמְחַת יְרוּשָׁלִַם מֵרָחוֹק. מדוַיִּפָּקְדוּ בַיּוֹם הַהוּא אֲנָשִׁים עַל הַנְּשָׁכוֹת לָאוֹצָרוֹת לַתְּרוּמוֹת לָרֵאשִׁית וְלַמַּעַשְׂרוֹת לִכְנוֹס בָּהֶם לִשְׂדֵי הֶעָרִים מְנָאוֹת הַתּוֹרָה לַכֹּהֲנִים וְלַלְוִיִּם: כִּי שִׂמְחַת יְהוּדָה עַל הַכֹּהֲנִים וְעַל הַלְוִיִּם הָעֹמְדִים. מהוַיִּשְׁמְרוּ מִשְׁמֶרֶת אֱלֹהֵיהֶם וּמִשְׁמֶרֶת הַטָּהֳרָה וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִים כְּמִצְוַת דָּוִיד שְׁלֹמֹה בְנוֹ. מוכִּי בִימֵי דָוִיד וְאָסָף מִקֶּדֶם ראש (רָאשֵׁי) הַמְשֹׁרְרִים וְשִׁיר תְּהִלָּה וְהֹדוֹת לֵאלֹהִים. מזוְכָל יִשְׂרָאֵל בִּימֵי זְרֻבָּבֶל וּבִימֵי נְחֶמְיָה נֹתְנִים מְנָיוֹת הַמְשֹׁרְרִים וְהַשֹּׁעֲרִים דְּבַר יוֹם בְּיוֹמוֹ; וּמַקְדִּשִׁים לַלְוִיִּם וְהַלְוִיִּם מַקְדִּשִׁים לִבְנֵי אַהֲרֹן.
