1For the courses of the doorkeepers: of the Korkhim: Meshelem-Yahu Ben Kore, of the sons of Asaf. 2And Meshelem-Yahu had sons: Zekhar-Yahu the first-born, Yediya’el the second, Zevad-Yahu the third, Yatni’el the fourth; 3Elam the fifth, Yehokhanan the sixth, El-Yeho’einai the seventh. 4And Oved Edom had sons: Shema-Yah the first-born, Yehozahav the second, Yo’akh the third, and Sakhar the fourth, and Netanel the fifth; 5Ami’el the sixth, Yisakhar the seventh, Pe’uletai the eighth; for Elohim blessed him. 6Also unto Shema-Yah his son were sons born, that ruled over the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valor. 7The sons of Shema-Yah: Otni, and Refa’el and Oved and Elzavad his brethren, valiant men; Elihu also, and Semakh-Yahu. 8All these were of the sons of Oved Edom: they and their sons and their brethren, able men in strength for the service; sixty-two of Oved Edom. 9And Meshelem-Yahu had sons and brethren, valiant men, eighteen. 10Also Khosah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief; 11Khilki-Yahu the second, Teval-Yahu the third, Zekhar-Yahu the fourth; all the sons and brethren of Khosah were thirteen. 12These courses of the doorkeepers, even the chief men, had wards over against their brethren, to minister in Beit יהוה . And13 they cast lots, as well the small as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.
14And the lot eastward fell to Shelem-Yahu. Then for Zekhar-Yahu his son, a discrete counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward. 15To Oved Edom southward; and to his sons the Storehouse. 16To Shupim and Khosah westward, by the gate of Shalekhet, at the causeway that goes up, ward against ward. 17Eastward were six Levi’im, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the Storehouse two and two. 18For the Precinct westward, four at the causeway, and two at the Precinct. 19These were the courses of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korkhim, and of the sons of Merari. 20And of the Levi’im, Akhi-Yah was over the treasuries of Beit HaElohim, and over the treasuries of the kadosh things. 21The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershuni belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ houses belonging to Ladan the Gershuni: Yehi’eli. 22The sons of Yehi’eli: Zetam, and Yo’el his brother, over the treasuries of Beit יהוה . Of23 the Amrami, of the Yitz’hari, of the Khevroni, of the Azi’eli; 24Shevu’el Ben Gershom, Ben Moshe, was ruler over the treasuries. 25And his brethren by Eli’ezer: Rekhav-Yah his son, and Yesha-Yah his son, and Yoram his son, and Zikhri his son, and Shelomit his son. 26This Shelomit and his brethren were over all the treasuries of the dedicated things, which David HaMelekh, and the heads of the fathers’ houses, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the host, had dedicated. 27Out of the spoil won in battles did they dedicate to repair Beit יהוה . And28 all that Shmu’el HaRo’eh, and Sha’ul Ben Kish, and Avner Ben Ner, and Yo’av Ben Tzeru-Yah, had dedicated; whoever had dedicated any thing, it was under the hand of Shelomit, and of his brethren.
29Of the Yitz’hari, Kenan-Yahu and his sorts were for the outward business over Yisra’el, for officers and judges. 30Of the Khevroni, Khashav-Yahu and his brethren, men of valor, a thousand and seven hundred, had the oversight of Yisra’el beyond the Yarden westward; for all the business of יהוה , and for the service of HaMelekh. 31Of the Khevroni was Yeri-Yah the chief, even of the Khevroni, according to their generations by fathers’ houses. In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Ya’ezir of Gilad. 32And his brethren, men of valor, were two thousand and seven hundred, heads of fathers’ houses, whom Melekh David made overseers over the Ruveni, and the Gadi, and half the tribe of Menashi, for every matter pertaining to Elohim, and for the affairs of HaMelekh.
אלְמַחְלְקוֹת לְשֹׁעֲרִים לַקָּרְחִים מְשֶׁלֶמְיָהוּ בֶן קֹרֵא מִן בְּנֵי אָסָף. בוְלִמְשֶׁלֶמְיָהוּ בָּנִים זְכַרְיָהוּ הַבְּכוֹר יְדִיעֲאֵל הַשֵּׁנִי זְבַדְיָהוּ הַשְּׁלִישִׁי יַתְנִיאֵל הָרְבִיעִי. געֵילָם הַחֲמִישִׁי יְהוֹחָנָן הַשִּׁשִּׁי אֶלְיְהוֹעֵינַי הַשְּׁבִיעִי. דוּלְעֹבֵד אֱדֹם בָּנִים שְׁמַעְיָה הַבְּכוֹר יְהוֹזָבָד הַשֵּׁנִי יוֹאָח הַשְּׁלִשִׁי וְשָׂכָר הָרְבִיעִי וּנְתַנְאֵל הַחֲמִישִׁי. העַמִּיאֵל הַשִּׁשִּׁי יִשָּׂשכָר הַשְּׁבִיעִי פְּעֻלְּתַי הַשְּׁמִינִי: כִּי בֵרְכוֹ אֱלֹהִים. ווְלִשְׁמַעְיָה בְנוֹ נוֹלַד בָּנִים הַמִּמְשָׁלִים לְבֵית אֲבִיהֶם: כִּי גִבּוֹרֵי חַיִל הֵמָּה. זבְּנֵי שְׁמַעְיָה עָתְנִי וּרְפָאֵל וְעוֹבֵד אֶלְזָבָד אֶחָיו בְּנֵי חָיִל; אֱלִיהוּ וּסְמַכְיָהוּ. חכָּל אֵלֶּה מִבְּנֵי עֹבֵד אֱדֹם הֵמָּה וּבְנֵיהֶם וַאֲחֵיהֶם אִישׁ חַיִל בַּכֹּחַ לַעֲבֹדָה שִׁשִּׁים וּשְׁנַיִם לְעֹבֵד אֱדֹם. טוְלִמְשֶׁלֶמְיָהוּ בָּנִים וְאַחִים בְּנֵי חָיִל שְׁמוֹנָה עָשָׂר. יוּלְחֹסָה מִן בְּנֵי מְרָרִי בָּנִים שִׁמְרִי הָרֹאשׁ כִּי לֹא הָיָה בְכוֹר וַיְשִׂימֵהוּ אָבִיהוּ לְרֹאשׁ. יאחִלְקִיָּהוּ הַשֵּׁנִי טְבַלְיָהוּ הַשְּׁלִשִׁי זְכַרְיָהוּ הָרְבִעִי; כָּל בָּנִים וְאַחִים לְחֹסָה שְׁלֹשָׁה עָשָׂר. יבלְאֵלֶּה מַחְלְקוֹת הַשֹּׁעֲרִים לְרָאשֵׁי הַגְּבָרִים מִשְׁמָרוֹת לְעֻמַּת אֲחֵיהֶם: לְשָׁרֵת בְּבֵית יהוה . יגוַיַּפִּילוּ גוֹרָלוֹת כַּקָּטֹן כַּגָּדוֹל לְבֵית אֲבוֹתָם לְשַׁעַר וָשָׁעַר.
ידוַיִּפֹּל הַגּוֹרָל מִזְרָחָה לְשֶׁלֶמְיָהוּ; וּזְכַרְיָהוּ בְנוֹ יוֹעֵץ בְּשֶׂכֶל הִפִּילוּ גּוֹרָלוֹת וַיֵּצֵא גוֹרָלוֹ צָפוֹנָה. טולְעֹבֵד אֱדֹם נֶגְבָּה; וּלְבָנָיו בֵּית הָאֲסֻפִּים. טזלְשֻׁפִּים וּלְחֹסָה לַמַּעֲרָב עִם שַׁעַר שַׁלֶּכֶת בַּמְסִלָּה הָעוֹלָה; מִשְׁמָר לְעֻמַּת מִשְׁמָר. יזלַמִּזְרָח הַלְוִיִּם שִׁשָּׁה לַצָּפוֹנָה לַיּוֹם אַרְבָּעָה לַנֶּגְבָּה לַיּוֹם אַרְבָּעָה; וְלָאֲסֻפִּים שְׁנַיִם שְׁנָיִם. יחלַפַּרְבָּר לַמַּעֲרָב אַרְבָּעָה לַמְסִלָּה שְׁנַיִם לַפַּרְבָּר. יטאֵלֶּה מַחְלְקוֹת הַשֹּׁעֲרִים לִבְנֵי הַקָּרְחִי וְלִבְנֵי מְרָרִי. כוְהַלְוִיִּם אֲחִיָּה עַל אוֹצְרוֹת בֵּית הָאֱלֹהִים וּלְאֹצְרוֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁים. כאבְּנֵי לַעְדָּן בְּנֵי הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לְלַעְדָּן רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לְלַעְדָּן הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי יְחִיאֵלִי. כבבְּנֵי יְחִיאֵלִי זֵתָם וְיוֹאֵל אָחִיו עַל אֹצְרוֹת בֵּית יהוה . כגלַעַמְרָמִי לַיִּצְהָרִי לַחֶבְרוֹנִי לָעָזִּיאֵלִי. כדוּשְׁבֻאֵל בֶּן גֵּרְשׁוֹם בֶּן מֹשֶׁה נָגִיד עַל הָאֹצָרוֹת. כהוְאֶחָיו לֶאֱלִיעֶזֶר רְחַבְיָהוּ בְנוֹ וִישַׁעְיָהוּ בְנוֹ וְיֹרָם בְּנוֹ וְזִכְרִי בְנוֹ ושלמות (וּשְׁלֹמִית) בְּנוֹ. כוהוּא שְׁלֹמוֹת וְאֶחָיו עַל כָּל אֹצְרוֹת הַקֳּדָשִׁים אֲשֶׁר הִקְדִּישׁ דָּוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ וְרָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת לְשָׂרֵי הָאֲלָפִים וְהַמֵּאוֹת וְשָׂרֵי הַצָּבָא. כזמִן הַמִּלְחָמוֹת וּמִן הַשָּׁלָל הִקְדִּישׁוּ לְחַזֵּק לְבֵית יהוה . כחוְכֹל הַהִקְדִּישׁ שְׁמוּאֵל הָרֹאֶה וְשָׁאוּל בֶּן קִישׁ וְאַבְנֵר בֶּן נֵר וְיוֹאָב בֶּן צְרוּיָה כֹּל הַמַּקְדִּישׁ עַל יַד שְׁלֹמִית וְאֶחָיו.
כטלַיִּצְהָרִי כְּנַנְיָהוּ וּבָנָיו לַמְּלָאכָה הַחִיצוֹנָה עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל לְשֹׁטְרִים וּלְשֹׁפְטִים. ללַחֶבְרוֹנִי חֲשַׁבְיָהוּ וְאֶחָיו בְּנֵי חַיִל אֶלֶף וּשְׁבַע מֵאוֹת עַל פְּקֻדַּת יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵעֵבֶר לַיַּרְדֵּן מַעְרָבָה לְכֹל מְלֶאכֶת יהוה וְלַעֲבֹדַת הַמֶּלֶךְ. לאלַחֶבְרוֹנִי יְרִיָּה הָרֹאשׁ לַחֶבְרוֹנִי לְתֹלְדֹתָיו לְאָבוֹת בִּשְׁנַת הָאַרְבָּעִים לְמַלְכוּת דָּוִיד נִדְרָשׁוּ וַיִּמָּצֵא בָהֶם גִּבּוֹרֵי חַיִל בְּיַעְזֵיר גִּלְעָד. לבוְאֶחָיו בְּנֵי חַיִל אַלְפַּיִם וּשְׁבַע מֵאוֹת רָאשֵׁי הָאָבוֹת; וַיַּפְקִידֵם דָּוִיד הַמֶּלֶךְ עַל הָראוּבֵנִי וְהַגָּדִי וַחֲצִי שֵׁבֶט הַמְנַשִּׁי לְכָל דְּבַר הָאֱלֹהִים וּדְבַר הַמֶּלֶךְ.
