1And יהוה spoke unto Moshe, saying, 2“Consecrate unto Me all the firstborn, whatever opens the womb among B’nei Yisra’el, both of man and of beast, it is Mine.” 3And Moshe said unto the people, “Remember this day, in which you came out from Mitzrayim, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand יהוה brought you out from this place; there shall no khametz be eaten. 4This day you go forth in the khodesh of the aviv. 5And it shall be when יהוה shall bring you into the land of the Kena’ani, and the Khiti, and the Amori, and the Khivi, and the Yevusi, which He swore unto your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this khodesh. 6Seven days you shall eat matzot, and in the seventh day shall be a Khag unto יהוה . Matzot 7shall be eaten throughout the seven days; and there shall no khametz be seen with you, neither shall there be se’or seen with you, in all your borders. 8And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, ‘It is because of that which יהוה did for me when I came forth out of Mitzrayim.’ 9And it shall be for a sign unto you upon your hand, and for a memorial between your eyes, that the Torah of יהוה may be in your mouth; for with a strong hand has יהוה brought you out of Mitzrayim. 10You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year.
11And it shall be when יהוה shall bring you into the land of the Kena’ani, as He swore unto you and to your fathers, and shall give it to you, 12that you shall consecrate unto יהוה all that opens the womb; every firstling that is a male, which you have coming of a beast, shall be for יהוה . And13 every firstling of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb; and if you will not redeem it, then you shall break its neck; and all the firstborn of man among your sons shall you redeem. 14And it shall be when your son asks you in time to come, saying, ‘What is this?’ that you shall say unto him, ‘By strength of hand יהוה brought us out from Mitzrayim, from the house of bondage; 15and it came to pass, when Paroh would hardly let us go that יהוה slew all the firstborn in the land of Mitzrayim, both the firstborn of man, and the firstborn of beast; therefore I sacrifice to יהוה all that opens the womb, being males; but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem. 16And it shall be for a sign upon your hand, and for frontlets between your eyes; for by strength of hand יהוה brought us forth out of Mitzrayim’.”
Parashat B’Shalakh
17And it came to pass, when Paroh had let the people go, that Elohim led them not by the way of the land of the P’lishtim, although that was near; for Elohim said, “Lest perhaps the people turn around when they see war, and they return to Mitzrayim.” 18But Elohim led the people about, by the way of the wilderness by Yam Suf; and B’nei Yisra’el went up armed out of the land of Mitzrayim.
19And Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him; for he had straitly sworn B’nei Yisra’el, saying, “Elohim will surely remember you; and you shall carry up my bones away from here with you.” 20And they took their journey from Sukkot, and encamped in Etam, in the edge of the wilderness. 21And יהוה went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them in the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; that they might go by day and by night: 22the pillar of cloud by day, and the pillar of fire by night, departed not from before the people.
אוַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. בקַדֶּשׁ לִי כָל בְּכוֹר פֶּטֶר כָּל רֶחֶם בִּבְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאָדָם וּבַבְּהֵמָה לִי הוּא. גוַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה אֶל הָעָם זָכוֹר אֶת הַיּוֹם הַזֶּה אֲשֶׁר יְצָאתֶם מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים כִּי בְּחֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיא יהוה אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה וְלֹא יֵאָכֵל חָמֵץ. דהַיּוֹם אַתֶּם יֹצְאִים בְּחֹדֶשׁ הָאָבִיב. הוְהָיָה כִי יְבִיאֲךָ יהוה אֶל אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי וְהַחִתִּי וְהָאֱמֹרִי וְהַחִוִּי וְהַיְבוּסִי אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לַאֲבֹתֶיךָ לָתֶת לָךְ אֶרֶץ זָבַת חָלָב וּדְבָשׁ וְעָבַדְתָּ אֶת הָעֲבֹדָה הַזֹּאת בַּחֹדֶשׁ הַזֶּה. ושִׁבְעַת יָמִים תֹּאכַל מַצֹּת וּבַיּוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי חַג לַיהוה . זמַצּוֹת יֵאָכֵל אֵת שִׁבְעַת הַיָּמִים וְלֹא יֵרָאֶה לְךָ חָמֵץ וְלֹא יֵרָאֶה לְךָ שְׂאֹר בְּכָל גְּבֻלֶךָ. חוְהִגַּדְתָּ לְבִנְךָ בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא לֵאמֹר בַּעֲבוּר זֶה עָשָׂה יהוה לִי בְּצֵאתִי מִמִּצְרָיִם. טוְהָיָה לְךָ לְאוֹת עַל יָדְךָ וּלְזִכָּרוֹן בֵּין עֵינֶיךָ לְמַעַן תִּהְיֶה תּוֹרַת יהוה בְּפִיךָ כִּי בְּיָד חֲזָקָה הוֹצִאֲךָ יהוה מִמִּצְרָיִם. יוְשָׁמַרְתָּ אֶת הַחֻקָּה הַזֹּאת לְמוֹעֲדָהּ מִיָּמִים יָמִימָה.
יאוְהָיָה כִּי יְבִאֲךָ יהוה אֶל אֶרֶץ הַכְּנַעֲנִי כַּאֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לְךָ וְלַאֲבֹתֶיךָ וּנְתָנָהּ לָךְ. יבוְהַעֲבַרְתָּ כָל פֶּטֶר רֶחֶם לַיהוה וְכָל פֶּטֶר שֶׁגֶר בְּהֵמָה אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה לְךָ הַזְּכָרִים לַיהוה . יגוְכָל פֶּטֶר חֲמֹר תִּפְדֶּה בְשֶׂה וְאִם לֹא תִפְדֶּה וַעֲרַפְתּוֹ וְכֹל בְּכוֹר אָדָם בְּבָנֶיךָ תִּפְדֶּה. ידוְהָיָה כִּי יִשְׁאָלְךָ בִנְךָ מָחָר לֵאמֹר מַה זֹּאת וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו בְּחֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיאָנוּ יהוה מִמִּצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים. טווַיְהִי כִּי הִקְשָׁה פַרְעֹה לְשַׁלְּחֵנוּ וַיַּהֲרֹג יהוה כָּל בְּכוֹר בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבְּכֹר אָדָם וְעַד בְּכוֹר בְּהֵמָה עַל כֵּן אֲנִי זֹבֵחַ לַיהוה כָּל פֶּטֶר רֶחֶם הַזְּכָרִים וְכָל בְּכוֹר בָּנַי אֶפְדֶּה. טזוְהָיָה לְאוֹת עַל יָדְכָה וּלְטוֹטָפֹת בֵּין עֵינֶיךָ כִּי בְּחֹזֶק יָד הוֹצִיאָנוּ יהוה מִמִּצְרָיִם.
פרשת בְּשַׁלַּח
יזוַיְהִי בְּשַׁלַּח פַּרְעֹה אֶת הָעָם וְלֹא נָחָם אֱלֹהִים דֶּרֶךְ אֶרֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּים כִּי קָרוֹב הוּא כִּי אָמַר אֱלֹהִים פֶּן יִנָּחֵם הָעָם בִּרְאֹתָם מִלְחָמָה וְשָׁבוּ מִצְרָיְמָה. יחוַיַּסֵּב אֱלֹהִים אֶת הָעָם דֶּרֶךְ הַמִּדְבָּר יַם סוּף וַחֲמֻשִׁים עָלוּ בְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם.
יטוַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת עַצְמוֹת יוֹסֵף עִמּוֹ כִּי הַשְׁבֵּעַ הִשְׁבִּיעַ אֶת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד אֱלֹהִים אֶתְכֶם וְהַעֲלִיתֶם אֶת עַצְמֹתַי מִזֶּה אִתְּכֶם. כוַיִּסְעוּ מִסֻּכֹּת וַיַּחֲנוּ בְאֵתָם בִּקְצֵה הַמִּדְבָּר. כאוַיהוה הֹלֵךְ לִפְנֵיהֶם יוֹמָם בְּעַמּוּד עָנָן לַנְחֹתָם הַדֶּרֶךְ וְלַיְלָה בְּעַמּוּד אֵשׁ לְהָאִיר לָהֶם לָלֶכֶת יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה. כבלֹא יָמִישׁ עַמּוּד הֶעָנָן יוֹמָם וְעַמּוּד הָאֵשׁ לָיְלָה לִפְנֵי הָעָם.
