1And יהוה spoke unto Moshe and unto Aharon, saying, 2“Take the sum of the sons of Kehat from among the sons of Levi, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, 3from thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter upon the service, to do work in the Ohel Mo’ed. 4This is the service of the sons of Kehat in the Ohel Mo’ed, about the Kodesh HaKadashim: 5when the camp sets forward, Aharon shall go in, and his sons, and they shall take down the veil of the screen, and cover the Aron HaEdut with it; 6and shall put thereon a covering of sealskin, and shall spread over it a cloth all of blue, and shall set the staves thereof. 7And upon the Shulkhan HaPanim they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the pans, and the bowls, and the jars wherewith to pour out; and the continual bread shall remain thereon. 8And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of sealskin, and shall set the staves thereof. 9And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the Menorah of the light, and its lamps, and its tongs, and its snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it. 10And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of sealskin, and shall put it upon a bar. 11And upon the golden Mizbe’akh they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of sealskin, and shall set the staves thereof. 12And they shall take all the vessels of ministry, wherewith they minister in HaKodesh, and put them in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of sealskin, and shall put them on a bar. 13And they shall take away the ashes from the Mizbe’akh, and spread a purple cloth thereon. 14And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it, the fire-pans, the flesh-hooks, and the shovels, and the basins, all the vessels of the Mizbe’akh; and they shall spread upon it a covering of sealskin, and set the staves thereof. 15And when Aharon and his sons have made an end of covering the consecrated furnishings, and all the consecrated vessels, as the camp is to set forward, after that, the sons of Kehat shall come to bear them; but they shall not touch the k’doshim, lest they die. These things are the burden of the sons of Kehat in the Ohel Mo’ed. 16And the charge of Elazar Ben Aharon the kohen shall be the oil for the light, and the sweet incense, and the continual Minkhah, and the anointing oil: he shall have the charge of all the Mishkan, and of all that therein is, whether it is HaKodesh, or the furnishings thereof.”
17And יהוה spoke unto Moshe and unto Aharon, saying, 18“Do not cut off the tribe of the families of the Kehati from among the Levi’im; 19but thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the Kodesh HaKadashim: Aharon and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden; 20but they shall not go in to see the k’doshim as they are being covered, lest they die.”
Parashat Naso
21And יהוה spoke unto Moshe saying, 22“Take the sum of the sons of Gershon also, by their fathers’ houses, by their families; 23from thirty years old and upward until fifty years old shall you number them: all that enter in to wait upon the service, to do service in the Ohel Mo’ed. 24This is the service of the families of the Gershonim, in serving and in bearing burdens: 25they shall bear the curtains of the Mishkan, and the Ohel Mo’ed, its covering, and the covering of sealskin that is above upon it, and the screen for the door of the Ohel Mo’ed; 26and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the gate of the court, which is by the Mishkan and by the Mizbe’akh round about, and their cords, and all the instruments of their service, and whatever there may be to do with them, therein shall they serve. 27At the commandment of Aharon and his sons shall be all the service of the sons of the Gershuni, in all their burden, and in all their service; and you shall appoint unto them in charge of all their burden. 28This is the service of the families of the sons of the Gershuni in the Ohel Mo’ed; and their charge shall be under the hand of Itamar Ben Aharon the kohen.”
29“As for the sons of Merari, you shall number them by their families, by their fathers’ houses; 30from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old shall you number them, every one that enters upon the service, to do the work of the Ohel Mo’ed. 31And this is the charge of their burden, according to all their service in the Ohel Mo’ed: the boards of the Mishkan, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof; 32and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords, even all their appurtenance, and all that pertains to their service; and by name you shall appoint the instruments of the charge of their burden. 33This is the service of the families of the sons of Merari, according to all their service, in the Ohel Mo’ed, under the hand of Itamar Ben Aharon the kohen.”
34And Moshe and Aharon and the princes of the assembly numbered the sons of the Kehati by their families, and by their fathers’ houses, 35from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for service in the Ohel Mo’ed. 36And those that were numbered of them by their families were two thousand seven hundred and fifty. 37These are they that were numbered of the families of the Kehati, of all that did serve in the Ohel Mo’ed, whom Moshe and Aharon numbered according to the commandment of יהוה by the hand of Moshe.
38And those that were numbered of the sons of Gershon, by their families, and by their fathers’ houses, 39from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for service in the Ohel Mo’ed, 40even those that were numbered of them, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, were two thousand and six hundred and thirty. 41These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Gershon, of all that did serve in the Ohel Mo’ed, whom Moshe and Aharon numbered according to the commandment of יהוה .
42And those that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, 43from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered upon the service, for service in the Ohel Mo’ed, 44even those that were numbered of them by their families, were three thousand and two hundred. 45These are they that were numbered of the families of the sons of Merari, whom Moshe and Aharon numbered according to the commandment of יהוה by the hand of Moshe.
46All those that were numbered of the Levi’im, whom Moshe and Aharon and the princes of Yisra’el numbered, by their families, and by their fathers’ houses, 47from thirty years old and upward even unto fifty years old, every one that entered in to do the work of service, and the work of bearing burdens in the Ohel Mo’ed, 48even those that were numbered of them, were eight thousand and five hundred and eighty. 49According to the commandment of יהוה they were appointed by the hand of Moshe, every one to his service, and to his burden; they were also numbered, as יהוה commanded Moshe.
אוַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר, בנָשֹׂא אֶת רֹאשׁ בְּנֵי קְהָת מִתּוֹךְ בְּנֵי לֵוִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם. גמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כָּל בָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲשׂוֹת מְלָאכָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. דזֹאת עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי קְהָת בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים. הוּבָא אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה וְהוֹרִדוּ אֵת פָּרֹכֶת הַמָּסָךְ וְכִסּוּ בָהּ אֵת אֲרֹן הָעֵדֻת. ווְנָתְנוּ עָלָיו כְּסוּי עוֹר תַּחַשׁ וּפָרְשׂוּ בֶגֶד כְּלִיל תְּכֵלֶת מִלְמָעְלָה וְשָׂמוּ בַּדָּיו. זוְעַל שֻׁלְחַן הַפָּנִים יִפְרְשׂוּ בֶּגֶד תְּכֵלֶת וְנָתְנוּ עָלָיו אֶת הַקְּעָרֹת וְאֶת הַכַּפֹּת וְאֶת הַמְּנַקִּיֹּת וְאֵת קְשׂוֹת הַנָּסֶךְ וְלֶחֶם הַתָּמִיד עָלָיו יִהְיֶה. חוּפָרְשׂוּ עֲלֵיהֶם בֶּגֶד תּוֹלַעַת שָׁנִי וְכִסּוּ אֹתוֹ בְּמִכְסֵה עוֹר תָּחַשׁ וְשָׂמוּ אֶת בַּדָּיו. טוְלָקְחוּ בֶּגֶד תְּכֵלֶת וְכִסּוּ אֶת מְנֹרַת הַמָּאוֹר וְאֶת נֵרֹתֶיהָ וְאֶת מַלְקָחֶיהָ וְאֶת מַחְתֹּתֶיהָ וְאֵת כָּל כְּלֵי שַׁמְנָהּ אֲשֶׁר יְשָׁרְתוּ לָהּ בָּהֶם. יוְנָתְנוּ אֹתָהּ וְאֶת כָּל כֵּלֶיהָ אֶל מִכְסֵה עוֹר תָּחַשׁ וְנָתְנוּ עַל הַמּוֹט. יאוְעַל מִזְבַּח הַזָּהָב יִפְרְשׂוּ בֶּגֶד תְּכֵלֶת וְכִסּוּ אֹתוֹ בְּמִכְסֵה עוֹר תָּחַשׁ וְשָׂמוּ אֶת בַּדָּיו. יבוְלָקְחוּ אֶת כָּל כְּלֵי הַשָּׁרֵת אֲשֶׁר יְשָׁרְתוּ בָם בַּקֹּדֶשׁ וְנָתְנוּ אֶל בֶּגֶד תְּכֵלֶת וְכִסּוּ אוֹתָם בְּמִכְסֵה עוֹר תָּחַשׁ וְנָתְנוּ עַל הַמּוֹט. יגוְדִשְּׁנוּ אֶת הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וּפָרְשׂוּ עָלָיו בֶּגֶד אַרְגָּמָן. ידוְנָתְנוּ עָלָיו אֶת כָּל כֵּלָיו אֲשֶׁר יְשָׁרְתוּ עָלָיו בָּהֶם אֶת הַמַּחְתֹּת אֶת הַמִּזְלָגֹת וְאֶת הַיָּעִים וְאֶת הַמִּזְרָקֹת כֹּל כְּלֵי הַמִּזְבֵּחַ וּפָרְשׂוּ עָלָיו כְּסוּי עוֹר תַּחַשׁ וְשָׂמוּ בַדָּיו. טווְכִלָּה אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו לְכַסֹּת אֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וְאֶת כָּל כְּלֵי הַקֹּדֶשׁ בִּנְסֹעַ הַמַּחֲנֶה וְאַחֲרֵי כֵן יָבֹאוּ בְנֵי קְהָת לָשֵׂאת וְלֹא יִגְּעוּ אֶל הַקֹּדֶשׁ וָמֵתוּ אֵלֶּה מַשָּׂא בְנֵי קְהָת בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. טזוּפְקֻדַּת אֶלְעָזָר בֶּן אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן שֶׁמֶן הַמָּאוֹר וּקְטֹרֶת הַסַּמִּים וּמִנְחַת הַתָּמִיד וְשֶׁמֶן הַמִּשְׁחָה פְּקֻדַּת כָּל הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְכָל אֲשֶׁר בּוֹ בְּקֹדֶשׁ וּבְכֵלָיו.
יזוַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה וְאֶל אַהֲרֹן לֵאמֹר, יחאַל תַּכְרִיתוּ אֶת שֵׁבֶט מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקְּהָתִי מִתּוֹךְ הַלְוִיִּם. יטוְזֹאת עֲשׂוּ לָהֶם וְחָיוּ וְלֹא יָמֻתוּ בְּגִשְׁתָּם אֶת קֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו יָבֹאוּ וְשָׂמוּ אוֹתָם אִישׁ אִישׁ עַל עֲבֹדָתוֹ וְאֶל מַשָּׂאוֹ. כוְלֹא יָבֹאוּ לִרְאוֹת כְּבַלַּע אֶת הַקֹּדֶשׁ וָמֵתוּ.
פרשת נָשֹׂא
כאוַיְדַבֵּר יהוה אֶל מֹשֶׁה לֵּאמֹר. כבנָשֹׂא אֶת רֹאשׁ בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן גַּם הֵם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם. כגמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה עַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה תִּפְקֹד אוֹתָם כָּל הַבָּא לִצְבֹא צָבָא לַעֲבֹד עֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. כדזֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לַעֲבֹד וּלְמַשָּׂא. כהוְנָשְׂאוּ אֶת יְרִיעֹת הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְאֶת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד מִכְסֵהוּ וּמִכְסֵה הַתַּחַשׁ אֲשֶׁר עָלָיו מִלְמָעְלָה וְאֶת מָסַךְ פֶּתַח אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. כווְאֵת קַלְעֵי הֶחָצֵר וְאֶת מָסַךְ פֶּתַח שַׁעַר הֶחָצֵר אֲשֶׁר עַל הַמִּשְׁכָּן וְעַל הַמִּזְבֵּחַ סָבִיב וְאֵת מֵיתְרֵיהֶם וְאֶת כָּל כְּלֵי עֲבֹדָתָם וְאֵת כָּל אֲשֶׁר יֵעָשֶׂה לָהֶם וְעָבָדוּ. כזעַל פִּי אַהֲרֹן וּבָנָיו תִּהְיֶה כָּל עֲבֹדַת בְּנֵי הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי לְכָל מַשָּׂאָם וּלְכֹל עֲבֹדָתָם וּפְקַדְתֶּם עֲלֵהֶם בְּמִשְׁמֶרֶת אֵת כָּל מַשָּׂאָם. כחזֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי הַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּי בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד וּמִשְׁמַרְתָּם בְּיַד אִיתָמָר בֶּן אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן.
כטבְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם תִּפְקֹד אֹתָם. למִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה תִּפְקְדֵם כָּל הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹד אֶת עֲבֹדַת אֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. לאוְזֹאת מִשְׁמֶרֶת מַשָּׂאָם לְכָל עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד קַרְשֵׁי הַמִּשְׁכָּן וּבְרִיחָיו וְעַמּוּדָיו וַאֲדָנָיו. לבוְעַמּוּדֵי הֶחָצֵר סָבִיב וְאַדְנֵיהֶם וִיתֵדֹתָם וּמֵיתְרֵיהֶם לְכָל כְּלֵיהֶם וּלְכֹל עֲבֹדָתָם וּבְשֵׁמֹת תִּפְקְדוּ אֶת כְּלֵי מִשְׁמֶרֶת מַשָּׂאָם. לגזֹאת עֲבֹדַת מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְכָל עֲבֹדָתָם בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד בְּיַד אִיתָמָר בֶּן אַהֲרֹן הַכֹּהֵן.
לדוַיִּפְקֹד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וּנְשִׂיאֵי הָעֵדָה אֶת בְּנֵי הַקְּהָתִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָם. להמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כָּל הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. לווַיִּהְיוּ פְקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם אַלְפַּיִם שְׁבַע מֵאוֹת וַחֲמִשִּׁים. לזאֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת הַקְּהָתִי כָּל הָעֹבֵד בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל פִּי יהוה בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה.
לחוּפְקוּדֵי בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן לְמִשְׁפְּחוֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָם. לטמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כָּל הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. מוַיִּהְיוּ פְּקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם אַלְפַּיִם וְשֵׁשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁלֹשִׁים. מאאֵלֶּה פְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי גֵרְשׁוֹן כָּל הָעֹבֵד בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל פִּי יהוה .
מבוּפְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם לְבֵית אֲבֹתָם. מגמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כָּל הַבָּא לַצָּבָא לַעֲבֹדָה בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. מדוַיִּהְיוּ פְקֻדֵיהֶם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם שְׁלֹשֶׁת אֲלָפִים וּמָאתָיִם. מהאֵלֶּה ְקוּדֵי מִשְׁפְּחֹת בְּנֵי מְרָרִי אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עַל פִּי יהוה בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה.
מוכָּל הַפְּקֻדִים אֲשֶׁר פָּקַד מֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן וּנְשִׂיאֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל אֶת הַלְוִיִּם לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָם וּלְבֵית אֲבֹתָם. מזמִבֶּן שְׁלֹשִׁים שָׁנָה וָמַעְלָה וְעַד בֶּן חֲמִשִּׁים שָׁנָה כָּל הַבָּא לַעֲבֹד עֲבֹדַת עֲבֹדָה וַעֲבֹדַת מַשָּׂא בְּאֹהֶל מוֹעֵד. מחוַיִּהְיוּ פְּקֻדֵיהֶם שְׁמֹנַת אֲלָפִים וַחֲמֵשׁ מֵאוֹת וּשְׁמֹנִים. מטעַל פִּי יהוה פָּקַד אוֹתָם בְּיַד מֹשֶׁה אִישׁ אִישׁ עַל עֲבֹדָתוֹ וְעַל מַשָּׂאוֹ וּפְקֻדָיו אֲשֶׁר צִוָּה יהוה אֶת מֹשֶׁה.
